Just noticed a shelf cloud to my west! A bit unexpected.

Looks like it's the showers that passed over here a couple of hours ago that have slowly drifted NE. Didn't do a lot here but they look a bit more intense now than they were here.

the clouds have broken up now, looks like there is still a chance later on when it gets dark but for now its giving that "after the storm" scene at sunset

Already heard someone call this supercell based on this hook so you know it's been a day for a Kent clipper.

Looks good for more of Central Kent.

If that’s a hook, then this is a Bounded Weak Echo region! Haha

I'm currently here at the blue dot by Canterbury.  Not sure what to do next:

Well, I've made it to a soggy Dungeness/Lydd. Just gotta hope the stuff in the channel can spark back to life otherwise it's a wasted journey

How depressing to see the weather approach Reigate then make a sharp right to the east.

First decent chance of the year and already the trend is settling in.

Perhaps I'll move to Kent....

I've just taken this Zak, and it started to chuck it down as I did.

Moderate-heavy rain here, with the occasional flash visible in the channel from that lone electrified cell...

The rain has came back but still no flashes or rumbling

Well that looked promising then fell to bits.

Going through the radar it appeared the outflow of the strong cells offshore of Kent/Essex developed a small area that looked like forming a small MCS at 1930hrs ( anyone in Clacton see anything?).

Once the cells died off the area lost intensity right as it came over, thought I heard a distant rumble before it reached.

In all honesty it looks like the air has been turned over now and any available energy has lowered, the cold front will be pushing east as the night goes on whether this just pushes the plume away or activates some early hour storms for far SE remains to be seen.

As for me, next one please unless something unexpected wakes me up.

Now just as i post this area South of Brighton gains some intensity!

If it's any consolation I drove through the rain to farthing common.  Saw two flashes only!  Sometimes you just gotta roll the dice

Saw two flashes from indoors and caught one rumble, that’s what led me back on here!  Missed everything this morning.

Very interesting radar return, but for a true supercell, usually a very strong hailcore is present, as well as a corkscrewing/rotating updraft. If there was to be any supercells today, they will have been on the other side of the water. This was probably just a vortex within a convective cluster.

the rain has become heavier and had a few flashes and rumbles but nothing worth recording unlike what I did when I was a kid who would record for up to 20mins just to get one flash of lightning
