Not much to report on the sussex coast....we've had some convective spits in the last hour, enough to make the pavements partially damp!

We've not been in a prolonged dry period, but I'm detecting that lovely fresh convective rain on dry summer ground smell, as this band passes over.

Mass over Wales/West England, is that likely to fire up, or just a patch of rain?

Supposed to be but I don't think it will.

Incredibly humid here, looking at the satellite imagery doesn't look like anything kicking off yet

the mass of rain to our south looks the most likely to affect us but it doesn't look very active and any cloud ahead will probably reduce temps and so forth and so on

Things kicked off and built up in front of that rain but something's stopping it, does anyone know if its anythjing to do with the Cap or things people were talking about last year with these types of chances.

not sure what peoples expectations of today were but they seem to be much higher than what the reality was ever going to be , no forecast gave any indication of anything severe or widespread , a little perspective is required to avoid the disappointment that is about to come for some

Heard a distant rumble akin to thunder, I hope so but probably a lorry or something (I'm in London at the moment)

Either that or someone moving a bin is a common one that sometimes gets misinterpreted as thunder too.

Edit

I'm near London reckon it might be the Bedford towers.

Zak brews them in his shed.

Apparently I'm currently under a heavy cell right now...but no precipitation?

Evaporation before reaching the ground.
