Yep  Might see a few claps later on Sparkiee    fingers crossed

Yeah hoping lol, looking on Sat24, dunno whether this is signs of that Convergence Zone beginning that is suppost to form between NW, through the Midlands to London.

Met office warning was a complete fail. Yellow thunderstorm warning yet not a single flash detected over land!

Give it time.

Thunderstorms are tricky beasts to predict, especially in situations like today where heating is required (rather than say a showery day after a low pressure system)
Its not often you get storms this early in the day.

This looks like the line whereby I would expect storms to develop later today but maybe more to the NW along this line

I can see them from my back garden funky but look awesome

While, not so extreme, they look very much like Undulatus Asperatus clouds.

Still signs of something into the south-east during the early part of Friday too, although that could remain over the near continent.

Where at 2pm it showed on the met office the heaviest rain and storms for several runs at 2pm now it shows more westerly forecast. It was fun while it lasted, last night and a few updates this morning all pointed to a london soaking for 2pm.

People complaining that there are no storms yet, abc give it time. Most storms don't form til around 5pm at the earliest. And if they don't form enjoy the beautiful sunshine instead

You get a lot of storms before breakfast or late at night after dark and some around mid afternoon. The storms around london if I remember correctly a few weeks ago were around lunch time.

Yea thats why I said most, not all. You find the elevated types which are forecasted today don't usually fully develop until late afternoon and can last hours. It's rare they flare up this early unless they are a product of a decaying import but the ones today, if any, will be from the result of a homegrown convergence zone so I don't see anything happening til later if at all

I'm reminded of last year around mid-June where we had a convective setup but nothing happened all day except for the occasional light-shower in the afternoon, it wasn't until 11pm before the clouds 'exploded' and the NW had one of the best storms in recent years. I prefer late evening storms this time of year as not only does it help photographic-wise but if it's a miss there's still somewhat of a guarantee (given my height asl and viewing location) that i'll at least see a few distant flickers if the skies aren't too obscured.

*Immature post alert*

UKV has some cells basically giving us the middle finger as they inevitably slide over past Kent into Benelux.

Is anyone in central London, that can confirm these tiny showers? I thought it was anaprop but they are drifting and anaprop doesn't usually move on radar. Meanwhile France is exploding.
