There’s been fairly steady rain overnight and this morning however it’s clearing up a bit now. Chilly though.

Temperature now 13.1⁰C up from a minimum of 8.6⁰C at 07:27, humidity is 76%, wind 4 to 12mph west-southwesterly, pressure is 999.3hPa rising slowly, there’s been 32.6mm of rain in the last 24 hours of which 18.0mm has been since midnight and cloud cover is currently 3/8.

The moon appears to be staying up late. I wonder what's happening?

Rain must’ve been quite heavy as it’s made some difference to the level of the White Cart Water. Not seen it close to as deep as this all summer.

The rain front finally cleared through at 3pm.....

Followed by some impressive shower clouds, definite wintery look to some of those...

Its currently a lot cooler outside than the forecast.  According to the MET the overnight low is supposed to be 7c but already down to 4.8c.

A sneaky little frost perhaps in the making...

It turned out to be a nice afternoon here and we seem to have dodged the showers, mostly, and only suffered a bit from low temperatures and sporadic windy outbreaks, as it were.

Temperature got all the way up to 13.7⁰C at 15:46, humidity was down at 70% at 16:25, maximum gust of wind was 21mph at 16:17, pressure is currently up to 1006.0hPa and rising slowly, rain today got up to 18.6mm and cloud cover this afternoon was 1/8 to 2/8, so mostly bright and sunny.

Addendum: Just had a brief but vigorous shower lasting five minutes that took today's total up to 20.6mm. Oh, and I noticed on the village Facebook page that someone is so desperate for a couple of gallons of petrol that they're willing to swap a GP appointment for it. Now that's desperation!

A bracing autumn morning after an overnight low of 3.4c (so lowest of the season so far).

50:50 mix of sunshine and cloud, stiff southerly breeze making it feel cold out of the sun; currently 9c.

It’s been a mainly sunny morning but with some big, beefy, white clouds building up now and being blown in from the west. Chilly again but, although there was a bit of rain overnight, it’s crisp and dry now.

Temperature now 12.2⁰C in the sunshine up from a minimum of 2.3⁰C at 07:53, humidity is 76%, wind 2 to 10mph west-northwesterly, pressure is 1015.8hPa rising slowly, there was 0.4mm of rain in the early hours and cloud cover is 4/8 and seems to be building.

Had 1 or 2 showers here today (one of them was heavy) a brief lull at the moment before the next weather maker rolls in. Doesn't look great for next few days

First frosty morning this morning temp down to 1.6c here but minus 1.3c lower down the valley in Lairg.  A few hefty showers this afternoon but nice in the sun.  Cold this evening but cloud building from the SW.

Ooh Sunday night could be tasty severe storm could be afoot…

Another very useable day.

Max of 12c but felt warmer than that thanks to the sun that was out for most of the day; light to fresh SW winds and dry.

Some lovely skyscapes, especially in the morning....

Nerine's now in full bloom, a true autumn plant and a valuable one for colour at this time of year when the rest of the garden is looking a tad tired.  The books keep telling you that it's a tender bulb but didn't lose a single clump over last winter, even when it got down to -18c.

Definitely more planes in the skies these days.  The only good thing about peak Covid last year was how few contrails you saw to ruin the scenery.  Interesting optical effect on the contrails from this 747 that went over just after sunset (annoyed I missed the rocket launch the other night, apparently it was quite spectacular).

Cloud built up until 2pm and a minute later it rained for two minutes, and then it stopped, and the cloud cleared until by 5pm the sky was, to all intents and purposes, clear. Stayed chilly though.

Temperature maxed out at 14.0⁰C at 15:25 and total rainfall for the day ended up at 0.6mm. Outside, in the sunshine, it felt like a really nice autumnal day.

Damp, cool and windy day today, which I suspect will be par for the course in the weeks to come.

Maximum temperature today was 13.9⁰C up from 6.2⁰C at midnight, humidity is 90%, wind 3 to 14mph southwesterly, pressure is 1003.0hPa steady, there’s been 20.2mm of rain today and cloud cover is a fairly comprehensive 8/8.

@CatchMyDrift your back door looks like a space/time portal to the western Canadian rain forest. Spectacular.

1st of October and it’s getting to that time of the year when a person should to be ready to offer shelter and sustenance to a wayfarer in need. Good old fashioned Scottish hospitality. Except when they let themselves in unannounced and gulp down your pint. This wayfarer is getting kicked out as soon as it stops raining.

Maximum temperature today was 11.9⁰C at 00:40 from where it went down to 8.4⁰C at 09:27 and then back up to 10.9⁰C now, humidity is 79%, wind 2 to 18mph southwesterly, pressure is 998.2hPa rising slowly, there’s been 6.0mm of rain today and 13.4mm in the last 24 hours and the cloud cover is 6/8.

Don't see it too often might be 3 centers to the deepening low image.thumb.png.c1e1f3f96db8c3c530758182e2ba4459.png has been changing with each run on positions of the lowest pressure a few had it centered on Fife then recent runs have been toward the NE coast then could deepen a bit more as it goes over the Northern Isles.

A bit wet first thing but much better in the afternoon with plenty of sunshine.

Stiff SW wind and a max of 11c.

I’m not sure which is worse, the weather outside my window or the pain inside my head. At least I can describe the weather; wet, cold, breezy and dark. My headache isn’t so attractive.

Maximum temperature so war was 10.3⁰C at 11:06 up from 4.3⁰C at 07:57 and now 8.7⁰C, humidity is 90%, wind 0 to 13mph southeasterly, pressure is 987.6hPa dropping like a stone, there’s been 5.4mm of rain so far today and 8.2mm in the last 24 hours and the cloud cover is a thick 8/8.
