Well it was lovely before you pitched up. When did you say you're faffing off back to Canada?

10.4mm of rain so far today and 11.6mm in the last 24 hours. Time to inflate the rubber boat?

No sign of any sunshine here, very murky with mist/low cloud clinging to the hills.

Generally dry now after the earlier deluge but that strong SE wind continues.

Remarkably low variability in temperature, its currently 15.3c and has hovered around this for the last 12 hours at least.

Some pictiures of flooding through Greenock way, wouldn't be surprised to see many more like this from today, especially just North Glasgow.

Torrential rain, thunder and lightning in south side of Glasgow now. The way it just developed all around was quite something.

Yeah similar happened here although missed the worst of the rain. As usual it blows up as soon as it hits the city centre continual loud booms from the Glagsow storm. Nice views looking towards Glasgow but couldn't get a good pic and I'm not heading that way at rush hour!

These pics were the developing storm.

Am visiting on the south side of Glasgow so just catching a few piccies  from their window. Been plenty of thunder about but very little rain here.

Most of the day we had some rumbles and it looked like we going to be clobbered with rain the reality is we not had very much although surely now it's closing in

Chucking it down here at the moment, only heard a few very distant rumbles earlier in the day. Not sure if we'll get any with this spell of rain.

How's the luck seen the hail in Forth heard some rumbles but still no overhead storm, more good pic opportunities.20210806_113218.thumb.jpg.f7de2dc2ebc0583c33ee3baf1e625ce8.jpg20210806_131412.thumb.jpg.cd5f5cdf2b210b4deff5ca24235cdb8c.jpg20210806_132207.thumb.jpg.c46b8791b92a2f5d2597a76b3a8673dc.jpg20210806_135319.thumb.jpg.479667171d1dfa854ddeb6e26d83ac44.jpg

Right, so guess who was struggling his way up the hill on his hands and knees towards the pub when a deluge of cats, dogs and stair rods hit him with half the distance still to go. (Don’t over-think this one, twas me.) Then, with maybe five hundred metres to go, the sun came out and the temperature rocketed back into the 20s. Not the first time I’ve arrived at a pub steaming but certainly the most visually impressive.

Maximum temperature was 21.1⁰C at 14:22 up from a minimum of 13.9⁰C at 05:22, minimum humidity was 65% at 14:31 and maximum was 91% at 21:52, wind was 1 to 7mph southerly or thereabouts, pressure went from 992.4hPa at midnight to 988.2hPa at 14:02 and is now 988.9hPa steady, rainfall today totalled 17.2mm and cloud cover has been between 6/8 and 8/8.

Unlike just about everybody else, I haven’t heard any thunder today, nor seen any lightning and the village seems to have escaped the worst of the weather – except in the twenty minutes I took my stroll.

Looking forward to a barbeque on the 17th then.

Your drier weather should resume around the 16th of August

Aye, as that's when most of the school holidays finish. To be fair though, it's been pretty decent for the bulk of the holidays

Very warm and sticky at 21c feels like thunder this afternoon with a couple of big showers over the Firth.

Two weeks ago after the overnight thunderstorms the phone line and internet  became very unreliable hardly able to hear anyone on the phone due to crackling and internet freezing. Water must have got into joints on copper wires. So have just connected up to 4 gee router what a difference everthing is instantaneous. Was already using mobile phone for all buisnesses just a few personal friends to get onto e mail or mobile. So very 21st century now. A neighbour running a worldwide buisness from his home put us onto this last week.

Have keys to the new mansion so spent most of yesterday unloading the car in the rain.. today has been much drier so managed to get some more bits done.. will be glad once we are all settled in and i can count down to winter and all the lovely snaw that will be coming my way..

Staying here tonight to get some odd jobs done. May have to pop to the local pub and sample a few pints just to check its fine for others to consume..

Warm, humid and pretty wet through parts of Ayrshire. Just had a torrential downpour with a couple of distant rumbles.

Also nothing like a torrential shower to highlight that the gutters need cleaned!

@JamesM Rumbles must have been to the west of you because I heard nothing from here to your east.... Pardon?

Maximum temperature was 19.1⁰C at 12:52 just before the rain started and up from a minimum of 13.8⁰C at 06:12 with current temperature at 16.1⁰C, humidity is 86%, wind 2 to 9mph south-southeasterly, pressure is 989.3hPa rising slowly, there’s been 0.6mm of rain since this shower started half an hour ago and cloud cover is 7/8.

@Puffy MacCloud earlier rumbles sounded like they were to the southwest from here and quite distant.

Still warm and humid but missing all the shower action here now.
