Just in the garden watching a  clearence  to very clear arctic air coming in from the north with a light north wind. Could be some low temperatures in some of the glens tonight. Not unusual up here around midsummers day.

Nice sunset at 10.30 pm looking north across the Firth on the eve of midsummer but chilly at 9cDSC02734.thumb.JPG.55ac6df07923863808fe736794dc384a.JPGDSC02736.thumb.JPG.4591bbc51a3cb514cd7390f632d160dd.JPG

Some nice rain to wet the garden today, especially a heavy burst around lunchtime, after we'd hung out some washing to dry (eventually brought back in, design and hung up inside).

Yesterday was dull and grey all day with temperatures topping out around 15 degrees and nearly 5mm of rain falling in the early morning. Today is a bit better and although it's still mainly overcast there is a bit of brightness about. Going to see isolating daughter this afternoon but only through the wire.

Temperature currently 15.8deg.C up from a minimum of 7.6deg.C at 03:27, humidity is 60%, wind is 1 to 3mph northwesterly, pressure is 1020.6hPa rising slowly, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 7/8.

Been bright rather than sunny today. Not overly exciting. Not that warm either but pleasant enough I suppose

After yesterday's soggy affair, today was much better being dry, mainly cloudy with sunny intervals.

NW winds moderate at first, now dead calm outside.

Reached a max of 15c, temperature is really dropping fast at the moment, was 12c at 8pm and now its 6.8c.  The Met Office forecast of grass frost could well be the case here at this rate.

Garden now full of colour, amazing really considering the dire state it was in at the start of May thanks to the weather.

One of the raised beds has been swamped by Cymbalaria muralis, a plant thug but a pretty one.

It's been a really nice, sunny morning here and I've been taking advantage by sitting out the back and soaking up the rays. I've noticed again that a westerly wind has next to no effect on my weather station whereas the wind turbine on the farm up the hill is going like the clappers. My reading is currently 3mph southeasterly (bounce-back from the house) while the turbine is whirring round on a westerly orientation and my weather app says it's around 10mph. I think I need an anemometer up on the ridge of my house but the Hysteric Scotland will probably have a fit as this is a conservation area. If they had their way I'd only be allowed to park a horse and cart out the front.

Temperature is currently 17.6deg.C up from a minimum of 4.0deg.C at 05:00, humidity is 54%, wind is blustery and probably a westerly, pressure is 1024.9hPa steady, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 3/8.

Gorgeous day, clear blue skies, light SE wind and current temperature of 16c.

Overnight low down to 4.1c, so not as low as I thought it would get but still pretty cool for the time of year.

Not often you get waves of hail passing your house (St Blasien is in SW Germany near the Swiss Border, looks nice place for a holiday).

Boring but it's sunny so acceptable birthday weather. @Quinach Belgium, France, Switzerland, Germany have seen supercells and some tornadoes over the weekend, my patience waiting for storms is slowly waning

Cut some hay yesterday (takes a week to make) in an attempt to make it rain for the rest of the farm crops and Friday  looks as though it will be wet.Prefer not to see to not see to many storms as grain begins to fill!!!

The biggest danger is that the Aussie trade deal, as is, sets a dangerous precedent for all forthcoming deals with major agricultural powers that are a lot closer to our shores and with a lot more political clout (looking at you North America in particular...).  They've set the bar so low that those countries are going to demand the same, or else, as we've no bargaining power nowadays being outside of any major trading block.  No wonder the Australian PM was delighted with the deal, if our negotiators were strategic thinkers the Aussie deal was the one where they should had held out for a good deal, to give some negotiating leverage for the tougher deals to come with the likes of the USA.  You just have to look at the mess in many African countries regarding food sovereignty to see how things could well end up here.

As for the weather, overcast to start with but skies cleared a bit from 11am to allow some sunny intervals.  Temperatures responding, up to a humid 20c now with light winds.

Trade deals are directed by cabinet ministers. The current crop of cabinet ministers were chosen from a limited pool of pro-Brexit Tories who, by definition, are not the brightest spoons in the drawer and who, without fail, fail. The only surprising thing about the Aussie deal is that it took so long to reach agreement when our side could only see as far as getting an agreement. Any agreement.

Today is a bit disappointing after the wall to wall blueness of yesterday. This morning's early rain gave way to mist that eventually lifted at lunchtime but left a heavy humidity behind, which makes it difficult to breath when one's lungs are knackered.

Temperature currently highest of the day at 14.2deg.C up from 9.9deg.C at 00:46, humidity is 89%, wind 3 to 6mph south-southwesterly, pressure is 1025.0hPa steady, there's been 3.0mm of rain this morning and cloud cover is 8/8.

Lovely sunny morning in NE Fife. Now rather cloudy but still warm - the temperature at Leuchars is currently 23c, making it the second warmest day of the year so far!

Another lovely sunny morning, though cloud starting to build now - a sign of the rain forecast for the rest of the day and tomorrow (needing that though).

Feeling warm, currently 19c with very light winds.

Hayfever absolutely atrocious this morning, days like this you wish you were on some offshore island!

It's been a rubbishy rainy sort of a day today with the rain never being heavy but pretty constant throughout, and so it's also been dull and chilly for June.

Maximum temperature was 15.1deg.C at 11:43 up from a minimum of 12.0deg.C at 07:49 and currently 13.1deg.C, humidity is 92%, wind is 1 to 2mph south-southwesterly, pressure is 1018.9hPa falling slowly, there's been 7.0mm of rain today so far and cloud cover is a thick 8/8.
