Fifty ninth air frost at -3.6 last night. Decent day up to 9.6°C this afternoon then pouring with the rain just now. Dry earlier this evening and I spotted a kitten in a barrel.

Sixtieth air frost -0.5C. Foggy morning, sun trying to break through now at 3.8C. Had to do that thing where you're driving along and trying to remember where the fog light buttons are...

Fine day again turnips finished in field so cows got their first day on frosted grass which they seemed to enjoy but with added silage plus lifted neeps to supplement the grass. DSC02600.thumb.JPG.81e16c9ee824ccf22afd15b917fb27e4.JPGNow lying next to the dyke in the sun.

In contrast not much melting of snow on Ben More in SutherlandDSC02602.thumb.JPG.4ded53f78998f6abecc45a39f33cb66a.JPG

Well, after the frankly weedy clouds on offer a couple of days ago I'm please to see the clouds being generated today are of a far more beefy disposition. Still half of the sky is blue though so plenty of sunshine on offer.

maximum temperature so far today was 13.8deg.C at 14:09 up from a minimum of 0.4deg.C at 02:38, humidity is 52%, wind is 0 to 2mph southwesterly, pressure is 1036.2hPa falling slowly, there's been no rain today and cloud cover is 4/8.

Stunning day today, well since 11am anyway. With virtually no wind it actually feels quite warm in the sun.

We're not a needy bunch us Scots, 13c and sunshine will do fine ☺️

Nowhere near as much of a cloud build today hence no showers. After a chilly start really has turned out a super day

Yep, quite pleasant out there. Just about to head out for a run.

Also good to see high teen maxima returning to the outlook.

Spent most of the day outside doing jobs in the garden and almost got down to a T-Shirt whilst painting my greenhouse. Didn't quite get there though, maybe if I'd been doing something more strenuous.

Lovely day, max of 11c but the light winds and strong sun made it feel very pleasant indeed.

Bit more in the way of cloud over in Deeside, plenty people out taking advantage of the weather.

Today it's officially 'taps aff' weather whilst working in the garden (well down to a T-shirt anyway).

T-shirts all round then. Cracking day here also with only a couple of big, white cumulous puff-balls to set off the otherwise bright blue sky. Hoorah!

Temperature currently maximum for the day so far at 13.1deg.C up from a minimum of 0.1deg.C at 03:23, relative humidity is 57%, wind is 0 to 2mph south-southwesterly, pressure is 1036.0hPa falling slowly, there's been no rain in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 1/8.

Hard frost overnight with a low of-3.9c, the recent run of frosts have not done any favours in the garden with lots of blackened new growth.

Clear blue skies and currently 10.1c.  The big change today is the unwelcome arrival from mid-morning of a stiff and gusty SE wind.  This making things feel a lot cooler than yesterday, even though temperature is similar.

Come to conclusion we have posh birds round here, changed over to peanuts this week for the feeders as couldn't get any sunflower seeds.  Birds arrive, see what's on offer and then immediately fly off!  Only takers have been the wood pigeons when you put some nuts on the ground, but they eat anything anyway!

Fine daty here spring barley greening up nicely.A bit of military aircraft activity with an awacs plane and large transport aircraft circling Lossiemouth in an otherwise clear blue sky.

Evening all,

Wonderful blue skies. No taps aff here though, max was just 9c in an onshore wind. Overnight low this morning was +1.8c in Pittenweem although down to -2c at Leuchars.

Hmm, I wonder if that explains this strange cloud formation that passed over us (heading north to south) at teatime.

Looks awfully like a dissipating plane contrail....

Lovely clear evening so another frost is guaranteed.

More the point though, summer has arrived as the first sighting of a solitary house martin this evening, a full two weeks earlier than last year.  Mind you, feel sorry for it as there's hardly any insect activity so not much food available - doubt it wants the cursed bag of peanuts that we've got

Similar weather here and also same as last few days. Temps just creeping up a notch day and night so missed an air frost with a min of 0.9C  and max of 12.4C. Fine for t shirt and shorts when working in the garden and walking in the sun but needed a light jacket when out on the bike. Been a bit if work done in the fields since I last did that particular walk in the snow.

Up to 14 c in late afternoon with blue skies and its still 10c so a frost does not look likely tonight.Spring barley coming up in nice rows in the evening sun. Great to feel a soft wind on your face as you open the door.

I see Kinloss is still 12.8c so a southerly breeze descending off the Cairngorms may be the reason.

I like my mid/late Spring temperatures in the mid to high teens (even higher would be better) so was quite excited when viewing the ECM earlier.

Fingers crossed for the above and then a warm/hot sunny May would be great as well!

This is why I try and stay away from posting about the later stages of OP runs - back to Winter on tonight’s ECM

Will that be correct though? Probably not! Met Office outlook does not agree - mentions likely turning warmer! The plot thickens.

Bishopton was the warmest place in the UK today...that shows you just how poor the weather/temperatures are elsewhere at the moment!

Must have been a frost here last night too, the boxes of pansies I got at the garden centre yesterday are all frozen solid. Fabulous hot day and we got a lot of gardening done, was even pestered by midges

Yet another sunny morning with clear blue skies - am enjoying this wee spell and if it gets hotter next week then that will suit me fine.

What a week of weather we've had up here! Saturday, heavy snow showers which thankfully did not last too long and any lying snow melted pretty quickly once the sun came out. Same again on Sunday, less snow, but sleet and graupel mixed in. From Monday we've had gin clear, blue, blue skies and low overnight temps. The lowest was -3.4c. Spent yesterday afternoon visiting a friend which we spent outdoors. Plenty of sunshine but strong blasts of wind. Was nice if you could find a sheltered spot to sit in. It was soooo cold, took me ages to thaw out once I got home. Strange how cold it was in comparison to where I am, and her house is less than a mile from mine, but elevated a good bit more. I could certainly feel the difference!

Cloudy this morning but dry, so I think I may go and wrestle with some giant sheets of cardboard. Good for keeping the weeds at bay. If the wind gets up I'll be fighting a losing battle, so plan B is to chop some wood. A good way to keep warm!
