What a disgusting day. Rain in my face is never pleasant, especially at 5C. Just missed out on an air frost at 0.4C.

Just lost the electricity  in final severe gust before the rain hit.Back down to 5.5c and I see on the radar frontal rain turning to sleet plus a lot of following sleet showers so cold evening ahead.

Me and my big mouth...

Weather has gone from yesterday's dream ticket to a bit of a ticket today. Cloudy, rainy, windy and coldish pish.

Temperature maxed out at 8.3deg.C at 15:52 up from a minimum of 2.8deg.C at 01:58, humidity is 82%, wind is 12 to 18mph south-southwesterly, pressure is 1008.7hPa dropping like a stone, there's been 3.4mm of rain so far today and cloud cover is 8/8.

Evening all. A very windy day with gales this afternoon. Gusts up to 62mph at Leuchars but you can add to that along the coast. Windiest day in quite some time. A little bit of rain on now. Temperature actually got up to 12c briefly but it was academic with such strong winds.

Looking like the squall line will pass through the central belt around 6pm

After tracking it on the radar it had all the fun of a wet fart! Couple of strong gusts and about 30secs of heavy rain!

Wonder if that line approaching @Halfamilefromnowhere has nice structure with it looks good on radar CE432D91-6C04-429F-9C9B-2E20AC95A2EB.thumb.jpeg.b9af91f6b901959488b42c6d98d7d5b7.jpeg

A green and blue fart with a few red specks.  Get that checked out at the surgery.

Just looked  at this to the north in the dusk light and with the strong wind the  black cloud look very stormy more like a November night. With a temperature of 3c it might very well snow ,certainly the hills will have a blizzard.

Spring made a brief return today, not that it felt like the max of 10.7c thanks to the persistent strong to gale force wind.

Sunshine off and on all day, bar the couple of hours of cloudy weather in the late afternoon when the cold front blew through (accompanied by about 10 mins of heavy rain).

Never cease to be impressed at how the temperatures plummet after they go through - here the temperature dropped by 5c in less than 30 minutes.

Currently 3.1c so it's not as potent (so far) as earlier this week.

Northerly sourced air compensates for its frigidity by usually providing wonderful visibility, and this evening was no exception.

Nothing terribly exciting to report , a line of squally sleet and wet snow with some hail mixed in now wind has eased a tad

Yes the inner Moray Firth dust storms have returned this morning with this very gusty wind.

Same here too, some very strong winds at times today, with most of the remaining roadside snow drifts looking rather orange as they are coated in dust from the fields. Had reason to take a run (delivering 2 bee colonies) north of Huntly and there's still plenty of evidence of the recent snow despite it being 11C, but confined to roadside verges, wall lines etc where it had drifted.

Back to normal here, sunny with a slight teeny frost on the car. We need to get a weather station, lost without the temps.

Surprised to wake to another dusting. Thats 4 out of 5 this week. I must say even I'm looking forward to a change to warmer weather and lower heating bills..

Yes another dusting here at 0c.   Some fairly impressive snow showers across the Firth this morning .DSC02521.thumb.JPG.72ac8c0649c8a885ee29a4edb8f9ebf2.JPGDSC02522.thumb.JPG.7a6d2be19165308b9bb394df637d373a.JPG

Looks as though we may  see a few more snow showers today  around midday as the sun reaches its maximum .

There's a few small flakes blowing around but not much yet.

The radar shows a dark red blob incoming but we know how this will end. Tears.

10 mins later.... well Shirley, it seems to be snowing a bit more now.  It's bloody cold out, I know that from going to inspect my optimistic lilies...
