There a decent covering here already and temp down to -0.7C. Snow is a bit soggy underfoot,  which isn't surprising given we've had a few days of mild temps to warm the ground. Quite impressive really that it's lying so quickly.

I knew right away by the sound it was making that it wasn’t rain being blown against the windows it was wee bits of ice and snow...sure enough the tops of the cars are getting white...

Snow in April...it’s many many years since I’ve seen that, the last time must have been in the 90’s...I was at Knockhill for the bike racing and a whiteout appeared from the north west and wiped out the days racing...I remember it being exceptionally cold that day ( normal Knockhill weather is just cold )

Went up to bed a couple of hours ago with the temp being 6C.  Wife said she thought she heard hail a while ago so looked out to see hail and snow in the wind. Just a smidge on the car and grass and now starry again. Temp now 0.8c and windy.

Must have caught a light snow shower at some point as there's evidence on the grass and the shed roof. Apart from that it's the usual northerly fare - frost and clear blue sky! What's not to like

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
