As we are now into spring, we can realistically start to expect the first 20c readings (or close) over the next few weeks. When will it occur this year?

I'll go with 29th March!

Other thresholds:

21c/70f: 5th April

25c: 1st May

26.7c/80f: 2nd May

30c: 29th June

32.2c/90f: 4th July

35c: 8th July

37.8c/100f: not this year

I think we will have to wait until April before we break the 20c barrier. Probaly somewhere between April 1st to April 10th.

First 25c won't happen until early or mid May. 5th to the 15th.

First 26c-30c(exceeding 80f) - Late May, between 24th - 29th, or first week of June. This is usually almost always the first time of the year a proper hot spell sets in. I also think it will become thundery around this time.

In Edmonton first 20c day is usually the 3rd week of April..so guessing 22nd April

25c 1st/2nd week May..will guess 10th May

30c Last week of May..will guess 30th May

My guesses:

First 20 °C: 10th April

First 25 °C: 14th May

First 30 °C: 3rd July

I will further guess that the year's absolute max won't be anything exceptional. Maybe somewhere around 33-34 °C, hot but nowhere near the outright record.

First 20c. 29 march

First 25c. 6 may

First 30c.  13 June

High for the year to be 32.2c, so down on recent years and my guess is a front loaded summer.

I reckon we'll see 20c this month on the 29th (I'll guess a prolonged high pressure toppling away into Continental Europe).

I'll guess 25c on 20th April but no 30c until 31st July. I'm going for a cool summer with an absolute max 31c on 1st August.

This year has 2012 vibes all over it!

Hope not 2012 probably the worse April-August period in at least last 25 years.. never stopped raining and cold.

I have a feeling we are in for a mediocre summer this year (possibly spring also), but nothing like 2012.

Anyway, my predictions are as follows:

First 20c - 15th April

First 25c - 9th May

First 30c - 20th June

One 35c day - 7th August

Much like 2020. The May nice and sunny, but summer in the main was a disappointment, apart from the few hot days in June, last day of July hot spell, which continued into the first half of August.

I think a sunny warm May, will yet again give way to an average type summer. Maybe something like 2010, or 17, but not as bad as 12.

I don't think 35c will be achieved this year either.

Certainly isn't uncommon nowadays to experience shifting seasons. The most summery weather taking place during May, August being an autumnal month and then back to summer in September.

ill be surprised if we get anything mid 30s this year we've been treated so generously in the past five years. Time for one of them years that fail to hit 30C.

Yes, but I will take a summer which fails to reach 30c, if it means weeks of sunny warm weather with 23-27c type days.

I would take a poor spring this time round, if we get a better June to August period in return.

In an average year in the cooler climes of the Lake District we should have seen our first 20 degree max of the year by mid May, many a year it has come in April, but not always. May is more likely to deliver 20 degrees. Exceptionally March can do it, think 2011 but this is not the norm.

High pressure overhead building over a few days can do the trick in the April, indeed 25 degrees can be achieved later in the month.

Well done Scotland! Now we move onto to the first 25C of 2021.

No official station reached 20C so the wait goes on.

Looking likely at the end of the month and into April. London has 21c forecast on 30th.
