It was disgusting to see such disrespect for the very animals that give Gordon  Elliot a very nice standard of living. The majority involved in the industry love these animals that risk their lives da

Thinking of you and your family this coming Wednesday, Tom. Wishing you peace and tranquility over the coming days. Regards BB

I will now post up a detailed, Racing Post National Hunt type analysis, of the Result of the Cheltenham Festival Competition, dedicated to the memory of ANTONYBR7. 1st - BRISTLE BOY - In 5th

Thanks very much to all, for entering. I wanted to mark Today, with a little something, as it was the corresponding Saturday, 40 Years ago, that Antony came into the World.

I will be back in full Competition mode for the Aintree Grand National Festival (8th/10th April), and perhaps a juicy starter, with the Irish Grand National, at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday (5th April).

The very best of luck to all, "Virtually" or "Actually."

I'm sure he would have been up in the great Betting Shop in the Sky this Morning, helping his Italian Nan have her small Placepots, whilst having a little E.W. Lucky 15, himself.

    Evening all,

Hope I find yourselves and your Families, well.

Callum, kindly checked Today's Scores for me but we have a couple of minor differences.

Once the figures have been agreed, I will post up the Result of the ANTONYBR7 40th  Anniversary 1 Day Cup.

    Regards,

    Tom. 👍 🏇

    Morning all,

Hope I find yourselves and your Families, are well.

Although I havn't heard from Callum yet, regarding the few minor differences, between our figures, I'm pretty certain it is as a result of missing the Points off, for the "Double Points" Bonus Race, which Yesterday was the Lincoln Handicap, won by HAQEEQY (9/2). See below:

Today's Special Bonus Race, will be the ultra competitive Lincoln Handicap (3.10), the 1st big Flat Handicap of the Season, and the 1st Leg of the Spring Double. The 2nd Leg is the Aintree, Grand National.  Select the Winner of Today's Race, and you will receive "Double the Points".

If you selected this Horse, your original Points value of 5 Points gained, became 10 Points. I had a Non-Runner (HOOPER 2.50 Newbury), so was placed on the S.P. Favourite GOOD BALL, which won at 2/1, gaining myself 4 Points.  See Points value of these 2 Winners, below:

    WINNERS POINTS VALUE

    1/4 to Evens  (inclusive) = 3 Points.

    11/10 to 3/1   (       "        ) = 4      "

    100/30 to 6/1 (       "        ) = 5      "

    13/2 to  10/1  (       "        ) = 6       "

    12/1 and over                    = 8      "

I'm quite satisfied that the above two scenarios, accounted for the differences between mine and Callum's figures.

Therefore, the Result of the  ANTONYBR7 40th ANNIVERSARY 1 DAY CUP, is as follows:

                       ANTONYBR7 40th ANNIVERSARY 1 DAY CUP

DOUBLE POINTS BONUS RACE = Characters in Italics.

1st -  SUMMER SUN - Despite completely missing the break, he soon made up the lost ground, by finding "Double Points" Race Winner , HAQEEQY (9/2) (5pts>10pts), and ARTISTIC RIFLES (8/1 - 6pts), and secured Victory by 3 Points. - 21 Points.

2nd - KIRKCALDY WEATHER - Also selected Haqeeqy, plus another 3 Placed selections, and  finished in 2nd Place - 18 Points.

    3rd -  AVENGERSE12 - My Stepson also found Haqeeqy, and GOOD BALL (2/1 - 4pts), and finished in 3rd - 16 Points.

4th - HAYLEYBR7 - Also selected Artistic Rifles and Good Ball, and finished 4th, in her Full Brother's tribute - 15 Points.

    6th -  ANTONYBR7 - I posthumously selected Artistic Rifles/Goo

d Ball, for my Son, and he finished in 6th - 12 Points.

    7th -  BRISTLE BOY - Got off to a flyer with TOP RANK (11/2 - 5pts) and GLOBAL GIANT (8/15 - 3pts) but weakened thereafter, 7th - 11 Points.

8th - LASSIE23 - Also selected Top Rank but his run soon petered out, and finished in 8th - 10 Points.

9th -  PAULBR7 - I was to blame for his poor showing, as he was very busy working from home, for Fitzdare's Bookmakers, 9th - 3 Points.

10th - CASSIESE12 - My Wife was also very busy Yesterday Morning, dealing with a food delivery, so I'm entirely to blame, for her dismal performance. That copy of Woman's Own, must still be floating about. Really should bin it, 10th - 0 Points.

I'd like to thank everyone for taking part, at such short notice. As I stared Yesterday Morning, Antony was born on the corresponding Saturday, 40 Years ago and I wanted to mark the occasion, with a mini Competition.

I'm sure Antony would've felt honoured, by your participation.

Congratulations to Gav (SUMMER SUN), on his win and for making up all that lost ground!!

Much thanks again to Callum (KIRKCALDY WEATHER), for keeping a check on the Points scored, It's much appreciated.

Today is another very poignant Day, for my Family. We would've been celebrating my Son's, 40th Birthday.

Instead Antony lies in a Mortuary, a few miles South of here.

My Son's Funeral will take place on Wednesday Morning, and it's difficult to find "closure", until it takes place.

I wasn't going to begin another Horse Racing Competition, until the Grand National Festival (8th - 10th April) but have decided to go ahead with a MID/LATE SPRING Competition, after all. I feel the need to "throw" myself into something, as an antidote to all the sadness and grief I'm suffering from, presently.

I will start a new Thread, for the MID/LATE SPRING Competition, in a short while.

Very best wishes to yourselves, and your Families,

    Tom and Colette, and Family. 👍 🏇 🙏 image.png.a91294b18e8b8a60efe8f09d8b8a7a54.png
