Thanks for the statistics, looks like January 2021 was the coldest month in Scotland since Dec 2010? Please correct, this is notable and went under the radar, explains why all the lakes froze, no mild interlude of any note.

Also the frozen inlet in Shetland at the end of January.

Also no snowdrops flowering in January for the first time in  years   Daffodils only just breaking the surface in the last 10 days. A lot of shrubs suffering frost burn and the grass is still yellow/brown with countryside still looking very dead

Where did we end up winter 20-21, temp wise. Coldest overall since 12-13. Just watched someone on BBC saying we had mild winter.. mmm not really true.
