    Imagine these charts in January!

Or rather how bonkers this place would be!

To quote Chris Kamara, unbelievable GEFS

Mean is getting lower for Monday/Tuesday. I don't want this cold spell but even I'm getting intrigued as to what conditions we'll end up with. Uppers do seem to lift a bit quicker than previous GEFS though

EDIT: sorry again @General Cluster you beat me to it

Yes, although the lift initially to -5c co-insides with a drop in PPN, if that is a slack flow under clear skies with any snow cover, In the words of Rob Mcelwee, that would equate to a hard, penetrating frost.

I always maintain that I have an interest in models, charts and synoptics, and the weather on the day is almost a different academic or rather practical subject (as in it's sometimes a more interesting journey than destination), but this cold spell has my attention because of the possibility of the weather delivering a few surprises, with regards to wintry showers due to convection... To be honest I'd welcome some spectacular flakes even if it's not conducive to accumulating, one can always hope, even if it's at the expense of my garden.

Damaging frost to end the ECM:

But that would bring lovely bright, fresh conditions

Just not what a gardener wants to hear. Hard and penetrating is a no no at this time of year. Oh the conflict .....

This must be what they call a cold high? 🤔 🥶 😉

What an incredible transformation we will be seeing shortly from summer like warmth and unbroken sunshine to very wintry Arctic Northerly gales and frequent snow / hail showers with thunder & lightening...I’ve always been excited by thunder snow and I think there’s a great chance of that next week! 🤞 🐣 🐇

I never felt more like singin' the blues! 2131D06B-3CC2-4C6A-BB92-A1883E60EEDB.png    😁

A spread precipitation chart and a very wintry one at that ❄️

How rare is it to see this in April 🤞
