Dry all day here as it seems we're back to normal and all the showers have passed to the north. 13.0°C

A warm one today, peaking at 17.7°C at: 14:13, even though it has been fairly cloudy for most of the afternoon, and rained this morning...

Absolutely cracking afternoon with almost unbroken sunshine and great views of CBs to the E/NE.

Shame this ridge of HIGH cannot build in properly and instead we ‘look forward’ to an awful few days! I’d rather keep the sun/showers/storms set up!

Apart from a very light and short lived shower around 8 this morning, it's been dry, sunny and warm.  Temperature reached 18.6°C, warmest day since 21st April.

May sure is acting like April, with these April showers.
Sat 5.8mm, Sun 14.7mm, Mon 2.4mm, Tue dry, Wed 12.1mm.
May rain so far this month, 62mm.
Nice temps this week though, 16c-18.9c, with lows this week of 8.5c-9.5c, with a weekly low of 7.8c this morning at 3.45am.
Did have a few showers of hail yesterday.
Calm and grey now, 11.7c, 1017.5 hPa, SSW 4-6mph wind.

Not looking forward to the next few days of windy weather.
Met office has us down for 40-48mph through this evening and night and 45-57mph tomorrow.

Just been round tightening up all the veg garden pots and poles.
It is the Wickham fair day weekend, so traditionally the time for putting runner beans out here.
Have left putting my runner beans out till Sunday, as they will not like the upset if I put them out today, which I had intended to do as they are climbing nicely now and clinging onto the sides of the greenhouse.
Hope the broad beans don't get too knocked about too much as they are just about to produce.

Morning All, an overcast start to the day, a stratus start, which looking at the satellite image this morning appears to cover a large swathe of the UK

image.thumb.png.ff9698c27f36a22deb0ad10f7bfa15f7.png

Meanwhile an overnight low of 5.1°C at: 02:48 has crept up to 9.7°C  in the SSW airflow, out in the garden in a mo to tie down anything that looks loose..

Almost June and the beach conditions look like a calm day in November!

Rain/drizzle on the occlusion now arrived here

Doesn't currently look like much of a rain maker down here, does it Knocker?

No most of the rain is over Wales and the NW as you will have noticed. You may get a bit more as the next front(s) move through but tonight and through tomorrow not looking that clever. It is pretty grim here at the moment gusting 45mph

Arrived in Torquay yesterday for a few days stay, and yesterday was very pleasant and managed to sit out on hotel terrace in warm sunshine. Right now it's blowing a hoolie across Meadfoot Bay, pouring with rain and a typical S Devon bleak outlook out to sea.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
