Nice squall just passed through here.  Very heavy rain and gusty winds to finish what's been a rather miserable day.

    Impressive on the radar, stretching from Grimsby down to Minehead;

It wasn't a lot but it was enough for a dwarf snowman

A bit late in posting 😂 but we done very well (relatively) down here in the far west of Cornwall today. Proper snow for a solid 6 hours and unlike elsewhere in the country, no issue with settling. Set

Apart from a stiff breeze, it has been a fine sunny day with diminishing Cu

Has been the same hereafter peaking at 13.8°C at: 15:03, the wind has been fairly constant through the day, but the sun has warmed nicely, so no complaints... the beach again is deserted, I bet the town shops are really feeling this right now as a Bank Holiday week in this town usually means "Get the heck outta Bournemouth ... the grockles are here.." but not so this year... (not that I live in Bournemouth, but...just waiting for the government folks to do as they did on 1 April 1974, and extended the Dorset boundary...maybe they'll move it to include Christchurch now its part of BCP..!)

Brief heavy hail shower just rattled through here too, dropping the temp down from its already autumnal reading even more!

    Well that’s been a lively 24 hours.

Squally wind and rain yesterday evening then continued gale force gusts which moderated through today.

Several heavy showers including hail from mid afternoon onwards too.

Morning All, after some overnight showers, that seems the order of the day as another approaches rapidly..

    Capture.thumb.JPG.94a8fbcf0e458b728b4763cec340372c.JPG

Last nights' low a mere 2.2°C at: 06:25  and currently 10.6°C  with the wind having picked up again from the NNW..

The beachcam shot this morning shows the approaching shower (which I am under now) as it moves along over Poole Bay....

    Capture.thumb.JPG.3f2de6d13d52c5368d11a3463e2ab0da.JPG

And 5mins later it looks like this..

And 5mins later reaches the webcam..

So far today is following yesterday... sunny spells but dry. Yesterday there were a few spots in the wind by late afternoon, but nothing else of note, so will we miss the showers today?

Just had a cracking little hail shower here. First time for years since I've seen pea-sized hail.

A couple of showers come through here too. 1 hail. And 1 hail yesterday. Otherwise we had been "lucky" to survive them.

Proper Maypril showers weather today - just had a hailstorm that moved through and dropped the temperature by five degrees.

Although entirely inappropriate for May, at least this weather is quite interesting.
