It really is pouring down! So much for ‘showers’ ! More rain likely today than on Friday or in the storms last weekend!

The 3rd day of pre made outdoor plans to be affected in the last 9 days! Every other day except those 3 the conditions were either acceptable in the afternoon or very fine all day! How rubbish is that!

Absolutely pelted down at 11am , arrived in Teignmouth with threatening shower clouds and towards the end of the visit it hammered down.  Back in Taunton now and beautiful sunshine with towering clouds all around but not sure if round two is near.

20C 85% humidity.  Breeze picking up

Do you get the feeling Teignmouth doesn't like you?

As the webcam suggests, a bit of a fits and starts day, some sunshine and a fair degree of cloud, even a little dribble of rain earlier adding 0.8mm to the month total.

A peak of 20.1°C at: 12:04 has long gone now we are at 18.4°C with the  RH79%

Absolutely beautiful now. Blue skies and really warm.

We can see what must be the Weymouth cells in the distance to the South West.

The intensity from the rain earlier faded as it passed through here, only to pep up again as it moved East, which is par for the course.

Absolutely hammered down. Doesn't it know we are trying to build a chicken coop!!

More to the point, do the CHICKENS know you are building a coop?

Interesting radar this morning, with a heavy shower seemingly backbuilding over the southern tip of the IOW for many hours now. You wouldn't know it from this side of the island, though!

Bizarre radar signal today, almost didn't look real but reports now from Isle of Wight of flooded roads. Wider Yellow warning from MO now.

Based on the IOW reports, seems like the MetO hit it right on, but not for the local area from the local rag...

A YELLOW weather warning has been issued for heavy showers, torrential downpours and thunderstorms may cause travel disruption and some flooding.

The Met Office issued a yellow warning for torrential downpours and thunderstorms just after 9.30am today until 11pm.

Homes and businesses have been warned there may be disruption to travel today and this evening with possible delays to public transport.

The Met Office has said there is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

⚠️ Yellow weather warning issued ⚠️

I noticed on the radar earlier as well that the starting point seemed to be right on the tip on the southernmost point of Isle of Wight. When I playback the sequences it was like a feed directly from that point , this would then stream over towards the east.
I was scratching my head thinking how can it just develop in one little spot and then feed all the way across.

I noticed the weather warning out earlier which now seems to have been upgraded to an amber warning.

Turned out to be fairly turbulent skies this afternoon so far, another funnel cloud , this time not over Frome but Longleat again. That’s three I have seen this summer over there from here.
