Yes storm Evert. Best to remember that the METO amber wind  warning is essentially based on impacts and at this time of year there are thousands of holiday makers in the Scilly Isles and Cornwall, many in caravans and tents. It is  most unlikey that a similar warning would have been issued in winter.

Hmm, (so far) a bit of a storm in a teacup, norra lot of rainfall, and the wind more blustery than damaging (unless you are in a tent, granted).

Current maximum gusts over the last 24 hours

A fair bit of white horses to be seen down on the beach

Meanwhile, the overnight low of 12.3°C at: 03:51 has crept slowly up to 13.8°C, with RH89% and peak gust here 23.0 mph at: 08:19 with the rain amounting to 4.2mm.

As pressure continues to fall as the low moves east expecting a possible increase in wind strength and a change of direction, current atmospheric info shows

Another autumnal morning. Yesterday Septemberish, today October/Novemberish.

The wind and rain wasn’t as bad as thought though. The wind is normally worst when from a westerly quadrant here so perhaps this afternoon will feature the strongest gust as the low pulls away. Max gust of 31mph so far.

Incredibly gusty here though overcast and dry , has that autumnal feel but at least I can move comfortably around without feeling too hot .

We’ve only had an hour of bad weather today, from about 10-11am with heavy showery rain and Berry gusty winds as the LOW centre moved through.

Before and after it’s been sunny spells and blustery, 18.4c now.

The low and it's showers have moved east, not that we have seen any showers here, temperature has fallen back as the wind turns in to the NW, but all in all, a definite storm in a teacup..as the wind speed and pressure chart shows...

Been a little blustery today and cloudy.
A spell of 15-18mph winds and 20-25mph gusts between 11am to 2pm.
Only rain we have had was 2am-4am of 1.8mm.
Wind has dropped to 8-15mph now.
Not the strong winds predicted for us here.

Just having a few nice sunny spells trying to break through the cloud.
An on and off rainy month, 11 days that had more than 1mm, so far this month 108mm, with the two wettest days 12th - 30mm and 27th - 26mm

Blustery rain here in Somerset but I've just spent an hour retrieving the contents of my bin which was whizzed along the road. These gusts will prove problematic for campers.

Dribble, dribble , a meage 0.8mm of rainfall. A great day to be in the garden, as I was all morning, now I would appreciate some useful rainfall to bed the plants in please..

A peak of 19.8°C at: 12:08, has dropped to 16.1°C currently..just a drop more rain for the garden WOULD be appreciated (OH Weather Gods)..

Three light showers down, and the evening now looks clear of any rainfall..today's total 0.8 mm norra lot after the forecast of thundery showers but hey-ho, better than nowt...

Not bad this morning/early afternoon. Temp made 20.3°C. It has become a bit lifeless since then though.

Last sub-20 day was the 11th here.
