Not another one with SAD. Whatever you do, Beka, don't move to Inverness: it' s a stinker for SAD!

I've had it as long as I can remember. I'm ok if the sun is out. When it goes in like this weather. Cloudy nothingness sets me off bad. It's just sooo depressing. Guess you have it to eh. Nope will never move anywhere north!!!

Aye, Beks, I've had it forever! Long before SAD was even thought of, 1960s (get out the violins!) the time between the end of summer and the first real snowfall was always somewhat miserable. It still is!

Yea September - November is a killer. Autumn is pretty but I hate it. At least with Winter we know that Spring is next ...!

Got the Violin - Buga the string is broken ...

Evening All,

I wondered down the village shop earlier to look at some rather empty shelves, it was very mild considering the time of year at least we are saving on the utilities bill.

Much of the St has now dissipated with Ac above

Wish that was the case here Knocker! So gloomy and thick cloud that we have proper light rain rather than slight drizzle!

Sincerely hoping for an improvement like happened yesterday from late morning!

Morning All, a deja-vu morning, overcast and drizzling, after the overnight low of 12.9°C at: 06:20 the current temperature is 12.9°C!

The sat image this morning shows some clear patches to the west around Knockervil and some thicker cloud towards Andyvil with some thinner patches just to our east, but in the main across southern England it looks gloomy....

From the local TAF

Scattered clouds at a height of 900 ft
Broken clouds at a height of 1100 ft

Meanwhile on the seaward side of the mansion (!) looking as though the cloud is breaking slightly. I'm struggling to understand why boarders, go out when it's calm (possibly to chew the fat!) and yet get some breakers you never see them...hmmm

Mind since I last spoke the Stratus has rolled back in. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those days but I;m hoping the St will eventually burn off

After a late afternoon clearance yesterday, it’s back to square one this morning. Very dull but mild.

Good Morning All,

It looks like we had some rain at some point during the early hours (earlier than me getting out of bed )

Still nice and mild though, thermometer on my shed says 15c

Someone has vomitted over the blue sky. It never cleared here at all yesterday really. It made a vague attempt around 6pm or so but soon rolled back in so i'm counting it as cloudy all day. 15.7c

That satellite pic confirms the cliche that the UK and Ireland, as well as Western Norway, has the worst weather in Europe.

We seem to do worse than other areas close to the Atlantic, including areas more exposed to the Atlantic than southern England: look how clear western France is, even Brittany which is more maritime than most of inland UK.

A proper old gloomy day today.  Hope to see a glimpse of sun during the weekend!
