Morning All, one might say it's a tad bit glooomy, looking out over the channel this morning..

I think the person with the metal detector is being hopeful after the low numbers this weekend, but...

Anyway, overnight low back in double digits with 12.1°C at: 06:10 currently 16°C and RH77% with an easterly breeze around 8mph...

AND then... there were none, last day of Summer 2021 and NOT A SOUL on the beach..

Still under the Sc layer, base around 2,900ft

Currently 16°C  and

Few clouds at a height of 1800 ft
Scattered clouds at a height of 2500 ft
Broken clouds at a height of 3300 ft

So between 1800ft and 3300ft there's a lot of cloud!

Much of the early Sc sheet has now broken and cleared. And with very little wind a pleasant start to the day

Morning All, so the first day of Autumn, let me check..

Low cloud - Yup

Levelled temperature - Yup

Easterly Breeze - Yup

Sounds like the last day (week) of summer to me!

Anyway, it's all action on the beach this morning..in preparation for the Air Show, beach has been levelled boarding and barriers are arriving..

Meanwhile the overnight low was 12.1°C at: 06:24, and this morning it is 12.4°C (54.4°F), Apparent temp 12.1°C RH 82%

There and we wont even notice the change of season

Variable amounts of broken Sc but a pleasant enough day

Cloud base is lifting, things are getting brighter and even the occasional break can be seen

Few clouds at a height of 2600 ft
Scattered clouds at a height of 3100 ft
Broken clouds at a height of 4000 ft

Currently 17.4°C..

Currently back visiting family and on holiday in south Devon. The weather has been great. As for the beaches in the area...they speak for themselves. ?

Another cloudy day today. Felt cool earlier in the day but manage to struggle to 19.1°C when it eventually brightened up a bit.

Morning All, so Autumn day 2, looking similar to day one, overcast, low differential temperatures, easterly breeze

BUT

The people have returned, early places for the Airshow this afternoon, chairs, tents and windbreakers at the ready, the cloud base is a little higher and is due to go up possibly another thousand feet

Few clouds at a height of 2600 ft
Broken clouds at a height of 3700 ft

Looking at the satellite picture, it seems unlikely to break that much for a while..

Have seen the odd break but nowt lengthy

Under overcast skies, most of the airshow visitors have already disappered

A peak of 17.6°C at: 13:59, and just below that right now and still the breeze in from the ENE @8mph

Managed to find a little patch of drizzle around the Ringwood area earlier this PM..

Whoop, we just had the sunniest hour since breakfast time on Sunday! Temperature leapt up to 17.7c lol.

Frinking freezing on the beach so only stayed 2 hours. Then came home. Kids were shivering like mad. Next up ... Fireworks night then home at the ungodly hour of 930am!

Well after 8 consecutive days when the dominant wind direction was from due north here, we have a bit of a change so far today: NNW !  Still time for it to flip to N though but if it doesn't, it will then be the 12th.  consecutive day with a dominant wind direction between NW and NE. That's with Cumulus software but Davis Weatherlink which has nothing between N and NW already shows 12 consecutive days of N.

Remarkable, never seen anything like it.

Pleasant morning with some bits and bobs of Sc and little wind

Morning All, some breaks in the Sc layer, but it seems to have filled in now, after single figures overnight of 9.1°C at: 04:57, currently 12.7°C, with a ENE breeze of 9mph and RH89%

THe beachcam has changed location during the airshow to prevent people hoping to catch a view of whats happening, but a pleasant view across to Old Harry

The satellite view does suggest some larger breaks, so possibly some sunny spells today at some point..
