That's an impressive reading for one morning! The heavier rain is transferring slowly East, its really coming down near B'mth uni.

20.8mm to 09.00 GMT and currently in a dry slot.  Guessing it's the centre of the low?  It's been dry here for four hours now, but there is water on the roads in all the usual places where the drains are blocked, again, as usual.

Rain eased off a bit here now. Terrible flooding on some roads, in places where you don't expect it usually. Looking at the radar a drier spell coming up. Not sure if that lot over France will come later. Forecast is for more heavy rain later.

Sat right in the sweet spot as the last 6 hour rainfall coverage suggests, with Mapantz on the western limb and a darker orange

Here, not far away from @Mapantz and @Dorsetbred, I’ve had a mere 1.2mm.

Mostly cloudy so far but with the sun coming though occasionally and feeling a bit warmer than of late. 20.3°C

There's an almost insignificant small shower that's been sat over here in Fareham, stationary for the last 90 minutes but it's produced 11mm so far, and with an accumulated 13mm in showers earlier in the day we are up to 24mm so far since midnight. I suspect there is more to come!

Have you got a blocked rain gauge?

I recorded double that in under a minute during this morning's deluge.

Annoyingly, my Davis has read too low by a millimetre... from the check gauge:

25mmrain..thumb.jpg.c7c9f9e248241c422557f2650f9c6986.jpg

25.4mm ... a good moment to empty it while it's not raining, methinks!

Running the radar back it looks like I went straight through a gap. Not for the first time

Have been having pulses of torrential rain and thunder since 3.30pm here. Still hearing distant rumbles and the rain isn't showing signs of stopping.

Another 23.4mm of rain here since my last report this afternoon, including thunder and lightning. Broke my 8 year 'one hour' record, 18.2mm fell between 5pm and 6pm, it's still raining lightly and the total since midnight is up to 48.8mm so my daily record has also gone. Might hit 2 inches by midnight.

First time I can recall standing water on my well-drained back lawn and patio. Squelch.

Only had a few spits and spots that didn't even wet the ground, blink and you missed them, especially as the sun was still shining!  This was around half five.

Hello all,

Think this region is covered here.. it used to be.
so Chichester ( Fishbourne Chichester)  has had a deluge today) lots of flooding still in the village. Anyone have any rainfall data  to give context just how much has fallen this afternoon ?
ive looked and failed. Many thanks in advance

When I looked at the radar earlier it just seemed to not move and rotate around the harbour. Fishbourne in Chichester is suffering and so many gardens and garages and roads flooded. Think you are still having rain aren’t you?
