An absolute shocker of a day! Frequent heavy showery rain and gale force winds.

The maximum temperature (10.1c!) occurred in a brief bright spell around 18.00 and a few hours on we are back to driving rain and gusty wind!

Wind has picked up here in last hour, quite a few 40mph gusts and plenty of 30-35mph ones.
SW wind is a constant at 20-23mph.
At least its still stayed dry
Thought the wind would be easing now. Nowhere near the 45-58mph that met office predicted over the last many hours for us.

Clouding over here and just had a little drizzly spell.

Well Friday broke my record highest wind run here (since 2013), my wind speed averages cannot be compared with other stations though as it's a back garden anemometer on a 3 metre pole and turbulence from nearby houses keeps the averages well down.

Highest gusts are a better guide here, my record is 43 mph last December and Friday reached a mere 33 mph but I had frequent gusts over 30 mph for a 13 hour period, that's  very unusual for this site. So it was overall my windiest day, with wheelie bins sent a-spinning.

Under cloudy skies, the beach seems a little more popular today than yesterday..

Cannot seem to find this cloud type in my books or online! Thought it might be Asperatus but not sure.

Some light rain from the low as it disappears in to Europe (for a holiday)!

A trio of brave folks with no wet suits braving the water, given it is currently 12.0 °C which is the air temperature, they're brave....!

Raining now. Temp managed 13.1°C.

I'm not sure when these strong winds are supposed to arrive, however, according to the MetOffice it's gusting to 40mph right now, yet it's barely scraping 10.

Just beginning to pick up a little now. Better late than never!

Actually, as much as I enjoy strong winds, I despise them during Spring and Summer. The poor plum tree in my garden has been stripped of a lot of leaves. It looks like a tree from late Autumn.

That squall line produced only breezy conditions and a good 10 min downpour here. It has now gone chilly, fairly calm and light rain falling afterwards. Nothing too exciting . 5mm of rain fell in 10 mins on the electronic rain gauge. Currently 9c.

I have just screen shot the radar too, truly fascinating! At least it’s interesting because otherwise it’s horrendous again!
