At a guess, we’ve probably had 80mm or so of rain since last Wednesday.
50mm over the 24 hour event Weds - Thurs

20mm Saturday mainly from 2 torrential downpours

10mm yesterday from more general rain with some heavier downpours.

Proving a rather wet spell, welcome to Summer!

Beautiful IMBY with 15.1c and sunshine. Can see CBs approaching from the N/NW and more distant anvils to the S.

Rainfall accumulation for the last 3 hours is rather telling. I daresay some flooding issues in the Chard/Crewkerne area?

Beautiful afternoon in the dry slot.

Apart from a small hail shower this morning, everything has missed here. Temp reached 16°C.

Yep, I'm sorry the crown of the micro-climate looks in doubt this year...!

Whilst we haven’t been blessed with warm weather this year ,we have been blessed on many days with wonderful cloud formations.

Got a direct hit from that in test valley - I don’t mind admitting it was actually a bit scary momentarily. Epic hail for 10-15 minute, probably a dozen lightning strikes in very close proximity. Neighbour says he says some rotation but I don’t think so

I was at work at the time and it lashed it down, decent lightning and big booms of thunder. First I've seen so far. Then lashed it with hail Driving home was alot of standing water down to 40mph on the ilminster bypass at one point.

Any more on the way I wonder

Most of the action has been just north of here today, but had deep rumbles at 3 different times of the day.. 1pm, 215pm and 5-30 to 6pm.

So nice to hear those deep booms again, and really large raindrops with it (albeit not downpour style)

Morning All, a sunny start, after a chilly night as the temps head back towards the zero mark, with the low of 2.7°C at: 04:45, currently  8.1°C and a light breeze beginning to pick up from the south-west, possibly another showery day on the cards looking at the view this morning as the cloudscape suggests.

Damn, I really thought I was going to see some lightning from this intense echo just to my Southwest on the radar.

unfortunately it didn’t materialise.

hoping for many more chances as summer has not officially begun.

Tipping down here now

I've just seen that little lot on the radar app whilst I was checking to see if any showers were likely here. A few lightning strikes mixed in amongst it too!
