Had a brief rain/snow shower just now, that being despite the temperature being just over 8°C.

Been a lovely dry sunny day here 10.5c at 2pm, now 8.5c
Just had a brief dark cloudy spell pass over, but nothing came of it. Sun is out again now.
NNW wind has been 8-9mph all day.

So far, these lines of showers have not had our name on.  Long sunny spells and warm out of the wind.

What the hell is going on with our weather? Just had snow again and its 8oC! How is that even possible!

It's not all about the ground temperature, there's a lot more going on in the atmosphere in April to create this. Even the fools come out to play in April..

It was a mix of hail, wet snow and soft hail. Settled briefly then melted.

That’s a great photo, underneath it there was no discernible structure, thank you.

You’re most welcome,

Thanks for the feedback of what was falling  from it.  Must have been nice seeing all of that.

Maybe we are in for a little more tonight during the early hours..?

On New Years Day it started raining when it was still -1.6C so anything is possible lol.

Morning Dorset Bread,

Had a few heavy pulses come through in the last hour giving some snow in heavier bursts with a covering ( albeit temporary ).

Full snow here in Abingdon with a covering on the grass and most elevated surfaces. No covering on roads/pavement. Had a good frost before it started snowing so ground nicely frozen for it to land on. Been under the yellow echoes on the radar for about 30mins so probably got the heaviest part of this system.

EDIT: Turning a bit sleety in the lighter periods now.

It's having a go at settling on tarmac surfaces here now. Looks like it's almost over for me going by the radar though. Probably a better snow event then anything I saw locally during the February 2021 beast from the east. Good luck to anyone who's sitting outside for their re-opening breakfast in a beer garden this morning!
