Looking at the radar, I would normally be expecting to see some light - moderate snow falling within next hour or so, as the slightly heavier (but still not really heavy) PPN currently over Somerset heads in.

Judging by reports from people in Somerset though, not much is actually hitting the ground.  So I expect much the same here.

Heavier ppn is over mendips now and friends from up there inform me it is just the occasional flake in wind.

Weakening fast as it heads east I dont think we have a chance.

Snowing a little heavier here now. Not settling but nice to see and quite rare in these parts.

You gotta love the local rag, here's a reports view of the conditions...“Areas that see the heaviest bursts of snow could see a dusting. The main band is likely from 3am to 6am.

Wow that much aye?

A empty beach today, with the onshore strong breeze it's quite choppy..

Still -0.6c and patiently waiting for my flake  -  could be a while!

Great pics and videos from Ireland, if only!

What's the explanation for the radar showing snow but nothing happening?  What conditions cause this?

Evaporation causes by very low dew points.

Thanks, thought it was evaporation but didn't know why.  Sods law, we seldom get them low enough for snow and when we do they are too low!

Can see your skies to my south west from my front room; very dark. Will the snow make it here?

One of those days where some moisture from the channel helps, whereas our air, inland, is still bone dry.

If only the snowflakes were bigger, would be settling nicely but as is it's just nice to see it falling.

So sad to see all that precipitation having the life sucked out of it especially when you know tomorrow that won’t happen and the rain will reach the ground.

Although there's next to nothing falling from the skies I have to say the mighty Icon nailed the timing and distribution of the Not-Snow.

Reverted back to rain after a period of ice pellets/hail here. To be expected.

Snizzle alert.

Treacherous, eye piercing snizzle in Bristol now.  Some very snizzly conditions.

UPGRADE as I type.  Snizzle as turned to light snow.  Winter has arrived!!!
