Yep! Subtle change in wind direction overnight and showers are forming nicely over the open water and heading in this direction.

Only a very, very light dusting on some surfaces here in Kingsbridge, would need to pep up significantly in order to have any impact. But it counts as snow!

Very light snow falling on this side of the moor now

Met Office seem to have changed my weather forecast to show light snow for much of tonight here in NE Hampshire. Some parts south of me even getting heavy snow.

Wondering if they are catching onto the Thames streamer as winds go more E.

Still think radar watching is the best form of forecast in this case.

I wouldn't bank on a decent snow to rain event awd either. Tell me honestly last one you can remember that lasted more than half an hour before rain?

That's exactly what some modelling shows, hence why I said "brief snow to rain event".  Anyway, that sort of detail isn't worth analysing yet.

Best advice for our area of the region this morning - expect absolutely nothing, anything we do get, no matter how small, is a bonus.

Morning all,

Happy for some of you coastal lot getting a sugar coating overnight!

Some more dandruff floating around in the wind this morning but still nothing noticeable on the ground as it’s waayyy too light for that! Hoping for something unexpected to appear on the radar to give us a coating.

Im still hoping for something Thursday into Friday but we’ll see.

No snow here (a bit floating around, not really sure that counts). However, the set up and wind direction has not thus far been conducive to it down here.

Increased opportunities for a smattering though, as the wind should drop most of its northerly element later very shortly and becomes closer to a true easterly.

This was mentioned on the BBC local forecast just now, looks like they are seeing a Thames streamer setting up this evening across similar areas as last night as the wind switches back to a more NE direction.

Have no idea where this flurry is coming from as there’s nothing on the radar for miles around

Some building precip in channel as the low comes in, be interesting if much develops from the south because of it. Certainly got a north push showing now. Plymouth could get the best so far and west of that area. Be interesting if anything else develops further east down the channel from it.

Sugar coating on some surfaces here with a intermittent medium bursts and still very lightly snowing on the edge of Torbay.

Arome model has picked out the channel streamer well;

Should last quite a while for southern Cornwall in particular, perhaps giving a covering to higher parts down there;

Going by this, Camborne could see more snow than Bristol out of this cold spell.

What do people think about this stuff heading west from London? Will it fizzle out or actually reach us?
