It’s thawing on the cars too albeit slowly , just wondering if temps have nudged just above freezing .

Indeed, the rooftops, roads and pavements have lost at least 50% of their snow in the past hour and the sun is now trying to come out. As noted elsewhere, the heavier areas of precipitation from the streamer headed north of here. The local park has no one even attempting to sledge as it is muddy underfoot and little settling snow is left. A bit puzzling after such a good start. Here is the Wunderground site from Braggs of Surbiton showing 0 degrees and sub-zero dewpoints with a NNE wind.

Cutting East wind has developed in the last half hour, very gusty and strong making it bone chilling out there, despite the appearance of sunshine for the first time in days.

Temperatures still hovering at freezing,so my dusting is still intact. It is being blown everywhere though so at a stretch I could call blizzard conditions on the South Downs now!

Chill factor must be -7c

Does anyone look at this one? I use it for wind and waves in the Summer but it has lots of overlays and you can compare the different models as well as reported observations from professional and amateur stations. You can click on a point and get the stats and show readings from the nearest stations etc. There is loads of functionality I didn't even consider until viewing it now in conjunction with the snow forecast. Winds veering more ENE later so back in the game imby

Missed the big shower that hit South Woodham by a few miles and got the edge which was the famous polystyrene balls woohoo - Lovely 3 mile walk though

Been absolutely chucking it down in Brentwood for the last 20 mins, some of the heaviest snow I’ve seen!

Parked for 10 minutes to do a delivery and the windscreen had fully covered over

That snow in Brentwood is just making it's way now to Chingford. The sun peaked out for about 10-15mins and now snowing quite heavily again.

Quite frankly I hope the sun stays away as it'll cause snow melt!

Make it stop?! Think you're the only person on here who doesn't want more snow.

Properly chucking it down now. Probably the heaviest it's been all day.

Light snow again in Gillingham, should imagine this will carry on all day looking at radar.

My dad phoned me from Suffolk to say that he had heard that Sussex and Surrey will get a load of snow on 18feb - I asked where he got this info from - daily express apparently ?‍♂️

Winds will continue with more of an easterly element for much of the day now, so showers generally heading east>west, though I think weakening & fading as the day progresses.

During tomorrow a convergence zone will gradually sink southwards through EA, into Kent and eventually out into the channel, as shown well here by the FAX outputs

Could give 2-5cm in places where showers frequent but it's unlikely to sit over any one area for very long.

Seems to take its time which is good for us, overhead for more snowfall.
