Light snow just started here again. Hoping we can manage to get something a little more intense going, showers definitely beginning to initiate now.

Wondering if its worth staying tuned to this in my area. I live adjacent to the M3 so it could just miss or could be a jackpot situation (if you can call it that)

Taking the hi-res models literally there is some indication of a localised Thames streamer further west, near the M3/A3 just W/SW of London.

The question is will winds veer ENE for us? And will any moderate snowfall make it past the M25?

I'm hoping the low moving into N France will correct winds more widely in the region to E or ENE through Tuesday.

More likely more snow for those near the Thames estuary and maybe E London.

I think the wind will turn more ENE even straight E slowly over the next 24 hours

Just by viewing the UK radar for now shows its near on impossible to pin point showers/streamers they can pop up nearly anywhere in the flow and can fizzle/disappear as quickly as the can form.

    Good luck 👍

Cautious optimism is the key here.

Best case scenario this would be similar to the streamer on 28th February 2018. Low pressure to the south (Storm Emma) allowing a ENE, and a streamer - which wasn't really forecast well, was meant to be a predominantly dry evening with some cloud.

I think it partly depends on how close the low over N France gets to the UK on exact wind direction, that may also have an impact on where snow showers/streamers are likely. They won't be as widespread but may stick in the same areas for longer due to wind direction.

If winds stay NE or worse yet NNE a definite bust.

Could be some surprises but by no means a guarantee, at least this side of London.

    Thank you 🙂

East Kent has done really well out of this North Easterly spell so far! Sure it's not the heaviest of snow, but atleast all the pathways and roads are covered :D

Stopped now but that was a very heavy 5 minute spell. If the incoming streamer is as heavy as that for a good few hours we’ll be laughing in SE Essex ..

Looks like the showers are building up towards the north too?

Yeah a few more moderate snow showers heading towards Bedford, Milton Keynes area.......

As long as they aren't consistent though, unlikely to bring much accumulation.

Had light snow for much of the day in NE Hampshire, a dusting at best due to the snow being very light, powdery, and blown around by the wind - and more crucially, intermittent.

Need to hope for a consistent green (or even better, yellow/orange) area of precipitation in the same areas for anything more significant.

Still snowing lightly here, small-moderate flakes. What I don't understand is how I've been under gaps on the radar on/off all day yet the snow hasn't stopped! Is the lighter ppn not picked up on the radar?

Longing for a hefty dark pink/red blob to situate itself over here!

I'm exhausted from running to dive behind the curtains with a torch (no street lights here) Husband thinks I'm bonkers, have to agree with him really lol

Just waiting for that main band to get to us, it’s moving so slowly when it does it may take an age to clear!!
