Essex is sucking the life out of those snow showers, just leaving scraps for London

Any chance for stuff getting down to East Sussex?

Unfortunately, looks like it's fizzling out after going over the North Downs!!

I think it's decaying at this point, coincidentally. We do have some light snow here now but nothing much.

Are we expecting much more to come to our area later tonight or tomorrow? NE london has done a good job of avoiding the heaviest precipitation so far in this cold spell

An impressively cold day today, actually now the temperature is the highest it's  been all day, currently -2.4C with a low of -3.2C at 6am.

Managed to get son to the slopes to let son go sledging late morning. 4cm from on and off light snow since Sunday morning.

Snow certainly organising across Essex and North Kent, but seems reluctant to feed SW here for now, still the light stuff likr it's been all day, though some of the high res models do indicate  Thames streamer miving SW from Essex across NW Kent and on toward W Sussex overnight.

We seem to be missing a classic convective snow shower easterly like being seen Lincs northwards along eastern coasts of England and Scotland. Persistent at times but never really heavy.

I hope he didn't bash into them trees at the bottom

Once the band in red has passed that will be the end. Then welcome dry cold days ahead

its  been snowing  very stedly since  5  pm nearly had  2inches of snow and still coming  down over  the east side  of ipswich

What’s your totals now there? Almost two solid days of snow (albeit lighter on day 2) isn’t bad going!

Is the fact it’s ENE a good thing for us here compared to an NNE?

Hmmmm. Let’s see if old mother Thames can deliver the goods. Not getting that vibe to be honest, doesn’t feel right. But let’s see what the radar says next hour or two.

I might be totally off but the radar seems to have the blob refreshing itself out in the Estuary/North sea. Really looks like its finally showing convection.

About 36 hours of almost constant light snow in my location but hardly anything to show for it.  I'm not really holding out much hope overnight either - I'm a glass half empty kinda girl

Scrap my post above, just looked out the window and it's snowing heavily and all surfaces are white.  Any footsteps on the pavement have filled in quite nicely.  So now I'm a glass half full kinda girl

Yeah ENE is the classic Thames Streamer direction. But it’s not that simple unfortunately lol

Just seen this Paul following my post above.  Would explain the decent snow amounts currently falling outside ❄❄
