21c at 3.25am, I'm glad nights like this have been few and far between this summer

Good morning;

Another hot one coming up today, a few bits of cloud (mostly altocumulus castellanus) at the moment drifting through at the moment. Most places should see a fine day with good sunny spells. Perhaps a little more cloud and the chance of a shower towards London and the Home Counties.

A maximum temperature of 30/31c across western parts of the region. Similar values expected on Tuesday and Wednesday too.

19 already here at 7.05 and starting to rise!!think we could get to 30 here again today if skies stay clear.Not looking forward to working in this for next few days as I find anything over 25/26 is tough going!☹️That said those that don’t have to work enjoy it as it has been a long time coming this summer

I wasn't expecting to see cloud bubbling up by 07.00 this morning:

Certainly by this afternoon almost anywhere could see a sharp shower develop. Here's the Arome model hourly forecasts from 13.00 to 21.00 today:

Sticky night last night, slighly cooler this morning, was hoping the heat was only going to stick around for the weekend but looking to be here for longer this week, feel exhausted because of it already.

Cloud quickly bubbling up now…classic humid summery skies that wouldn’t look out of place in Florida!

A very humid 28 degrees from my thermometer in the shade here in wgc. I normally love working outside as a gardener but today and this week....well it is going to be a challenge shall we say...would welcome a shower to cool down

In Cambridge today (first time since the pandemic started). The cloud did appear to be bubbling up, but it has dispersed somewhat now. 28c at 1pm so a chance of hitting 30c again today.

Quite some shower impacting the High Weald.

Very humid now. I can see the convection building nicely to the east and heading off down towards East Sussex and Kent. Dry here though.

Four miles too far north, although I can hear rumbles. The blue blob over over Hailsham and Polegate is a big fib, though.

No shower concerns here, just some patchy fair weather cloud. The temperature looks like falling just short of 30c today, a high of 29c.
