That’s the plan here too! Though we have cloud now in bexhill

Cloud has built rapidly here in the last hour to give 100% cloud cover.  The atmosphere certainly has a loaded feel to it now. I will be surprised if we miss out on anything later this evening and into the night.

If any of these showers warrant a decent thunderstorm. London East, Kent, Essex, EA and the North Sea see the best chance.

Expecting just rain here as always. Been years since a forecasted torrential thunderstorm produced more than one clap of thunder. Tonight’s no different.

Dungeness was utterly gorgeous today out looking at the sound mirrors and Derek Jarman's cottage garden. It certainly feels like there is something in the air, but so far nothing interesting appears to have made it nearer my bit of East Sussex than the Cherbourg Peninsula.

Radar has really intensified that precipitation in the last couple of frames . Looks like we could go bang big time .

⚡ Incoming! ⚡

Evening all, thought I'd come into the regional thread as I can't imagine those up in the NW want to have their feeds flooded!

Been out on the bike today and it was hot and humid, still is!

As with snow events I don't want to get over hyped so will go with the flow tonight.

The lights will dim, and thus, the show must begin!

Happy watching all!

Still 27c here, humidity is up and very slowly starting to get some white cloud appearing in the sky, if the storm thats crossing the chanel stays on course, we just might get some fun late tonight/early morning.

Cloud streaming in from the SW now, something's going to happen but where, that's the question.

I'll have to persuade Goldie Corn and her 8 peepers that sleeping outside tonight is a bad idea....

Have to say the NW storm risk for my area is dire over the next few days!

Down here on the coast it’s feeling mighty ready to go bang.

Just taken the cover off the gazebo as I don’t fancy retrieving that from a neighbours garden tomorrow. My cousin in Worthing has just told me it’s heavy rain down there at the moment.

Hi NS - I haven't posted here for ages.  Clouds are certainly indicating things are geting going, and I think the storms are going to be close to my area by around 10:30-11 p.m, going by NW radar.

BBC have nicely hyped the storms here, so get ready for few drops of rain

Too many times over the years I’ve waited for the torrential downpours BBC/Meto bang on about.

Still waiting

Met Office no longer involved in BBC forecasts apart from Warnings.  Forecasting now comes from MeteoGroup which is a European company owned by an American group.  I'm reliably informed that they mainly foreast from the ECMWF model.

At jury's gap, the good old channel has done what it usually does, that nice cell off the coast of brighton, has taken a right kicking

Incredibly hot again today to work in and i for one will be happy for temperature to drop down over next few days.just started raining here and first time I will not have to water plants and hanging baskets in 10 days as Mother Nature will be doing that tonightBit of thunder and lightning would be icing on the cake but main thing for me is much needed rain.Still 25 degrees here in Locksbottom @ 8pm.

A definite push of ppn ENE.

Looks like those in East of region could get drenched by rain (thunderstorm activity..? Who knows)

Areas West of London could come unscathed at least during next 24hrs bar the odd bog standard heavy rain showers
