Corking hail storm around lunchtime, couldn't hear a thing above the roar. Couple of rumbles of thunder and one visible flash of lightning.

    Feel spoilt now 😂

Just experienced a very intense storm passing through West London/North Surrey.

    Hail and very intense rain.

Also now classed as my most closest experienced lightning strike. Trying to find strike location out the back of my house over the small lake. Instant thunder and sent the hairs up on my arms. Not ever been that close to a lightning strike before and don't want to ever again that is proper scary stuff! You could "feel" the electricity.

And just as I type this another huge clap of thunder as it moves off.. Oddly lightning map not picking the strikes up but 100% a CTG strike

Well that was an epic storm! Biblical rain, hail, at least 15-20 big lightning strikes.

Beautiful start to the day, I even went out for a run in short leggings and a t-shirt remarking that it almost felt like a Summer's morning with all the promise that brings. Now sitting inside with my hoodie and the lights on - got the washing on the line for about 15mins (bit optimistic looking at the incoming radar returns). Probably going to change my outdoor afternoon plans to inside ones.

Indeed, I'm trying to double my outdoor walks but it's a constant case of planning around the showers and drying out wet trainers when the best planning.... well... fails....

Had a few rumbles and downpours this afternoon but it feels humid indoors.

EDIT: Just read the reports of others nearby so double-checked the radar and I can see the severe stuff went around us again. Ah well...

I'll testify to that. Rain was on a par with the heaviest I've experienced in the 25 years we've lived here in Twickenham.  Rain was truly apocalyptic in intensity. Flooded the bottom of our garden and leaked through our "sealed" conservatory roof 😞

Not a bad spread of storms across the Region this afternoon.

Such a shame for us on the Coast.  These stormy showers always beef up over land, leaving a swath of mainly clear air over the coast and nearby areas. I've been looking jealously North the last few weeks at the towering clouds forming. I need French formed ones on a decent plume in humid weather please! ☺️

Had a very heavy shower with one clap of thunder, the clouds look very weird though.

Rain cleared to sun, humid lunchtime walk, skies going very dark to the north of me, heard two rumbles of thunder so far, looks to be slow moving and the sun has now gone again, almost upon us. Could be a good afternoon for storms as that sun is now very warm when its comes out even for just a few minutes.

even although it looks like i may miss out again, sometimes looking at all the storms around you is better than actually being in one. I haven't heard any thunder (at all) but blimey those clouds are a feast for the eyes.

Was sunny calm and actually pretty warm..

But this shower has some strong gusts of wind coming from it... from nothing all day to very very strong gusts...
