Yup,a spell of heavy snow here on the sussex coast this morning that briefly stuck with elevation!

Heavier for a time than anything the 'beast from the east' in February dropped!

obviously we had our snow earlier than most others as at 2am this morning heavy snow shower so ive been told by hubby was falling, 7am my time for crawling out from under the duvet no snow but heavy white frost on grass and house roofs. Lovely sunny morning but very chilly so off to get coffee sat outside now open bric brac centre with own cafe, 2 very mouthy hello type daarling women ruined what would have been a nice change as they seemed to think we all wanted to hear about their house hunting [ of course asking £500,00 for wooden shack daarling] some things were better in lockdown ive realised on a cynical note ps hubby also said they were awful so its not me being catty

That's another day spent tanning in the polytunnels! Bloody cold out though, innit!

Once the rain cleared this morning it turned out quite sunny with a few clouds around, chilly though max 10.2c

A clear and very icy start, otherwise a calm day with sunny spells and fair weather cloud. Just scraped double figures.

Here's a timelapse of a thunderstorm that I captured from last night, passing by near Bedford.

Sorry.. changed my wording!

It passed over to the NE of us at around 8pm and some flashes were visible.  Here, the storm was close enough to hear a few rumbles.

Patchy mid level cloud prevented a frost here. This has cleared to leave sunny skies now.

Overnight minimum 0C and yet another frost. Just a few patches of cloud atm and not a breathe of wind, so hopefully feeling pleasant in the sunshine later. Looks like many in the Region will see a frost on most nights this coming week.

Into next week and both GFS and ECM going for a UK high pressure. As always, the exact position and orientation will dictate whether we end up with a cool easterly flow off the cold North Sea or a warmer flow from a more southerly point. With the high further east the ECM evolution looking more favourable for the latter atm, but all academic at 10 days out. Model comparison for the 23rd April:

One thing for more certain, it's going to be a dry 10 day forecast period for the Region:

started sunny frosty and bright, now mainly heavy cloud cover with an odd patch of blue, blame cold weather on s*ds law as last wk had summer tops and hubbys lawn mower delivered., he has had a play with new mower as its petrol driven reminds me of episode in the good life tv show where mower was turned into 2 person type of transport, saw that episode recently. That was when life was simpler and maybe more enjoyable, only phone on a plugged in wire lucky even if you had one, as for computers what were those!! few cars so easy parking and stuff we bought we used

A dry Ish week ahead, enough for the bogged ground to get a good dry out.

Hoping for a boiling hot dry summer before the 2021 autumn rains flood in.

You have bogged ground? It’s been dry and crumbly for weeks here. Amazing turnaround with start of year. No measurable rain here in almost 3 weeks.
