Just got in from work and its snowing heavily again. Had a couple of heavy showers in Maidstone and I'm guessing Ashford had a few aswell as my road is covered again.

I took this photo this afternoon in Maidstone looking east.

Winds become more favourable around 11pm ish for N Kent, S Essex and into the London area as winds veer ESE for a time.

AROME shows the risk quite well, too.

Upper profile far better for convection tonight so these showers should be able to gain some reasonable intensity, the warmer mid-level wedge preventing deeper convection shifted today.

Having said that, winds wont remain favourable for very long so there's a fairly short window, perhaps enough to give 1-3cm in places, nice for those who have seen an almost complete thaw.

Just copied this from the MOD thread and it shows the ppn moving back north west towards london through the night until about 7am.

Tonight’s minima from the GFS parallel

-10c somewhere with snow cover looks possible. The next three nights could all end up sun -5c for many locations in the region.

BBC being very cautious about tonight's likely UK low, compared with latest MO report from the site of -15C at 1900.  With at least twelve hours of clear sky to come, why on earth would they assume a minimum of -9C?  A Scottish site, but an issue which applies everywhere - i.e. taking account of actual conditions in forecasts.

I blame it all on 1963, Marie... At least you're nae called Julie. For some reason (best known to me!) snowfall always makes me think of Rock and Roll!

Yep! Looking good for say faversham eastwards to get battered by that!

Yup and maybe even further west getting in on it as well like medway. Looks like some building on the western side. Whether it enhances or decays yet to decide
