It reached 22c here, so pretty much average. Not too bad a day, the gusty wind made things quite cool at times.

Well…. Our final night in Port Isaac before trekking back up the A303 to Surrey…. Think it could be a bit hairy down here overnight!!

It really is an all or nothing summer this year, and the nothing periods seem to be the longest and particularly grim. Currently cool and grey with drizzle being blown through on a gusty wind, horrific for late July. The outlook is pretty uninspiring, barely over 20c for at least the next week, ☹️

35mph average windspeed here at midday, that's almost like a constant gale!

Lovely radar image of the Low and the bands of rain swirling around its centre.....

Oops, I don't bother with one here on the coast, it's just pointless, very rarely do we get rain without a substantial breeze to go with it. Coat and hood is my choice.

Met office warning for thunderstorms today, thats put the kiss of death on anything occurring here then. So far a bit breezy, no more so than yesterday yet and a few light showers since the rain first thing this morning. Slow progress of the low as it gets closer to the east, no doubt will dump heavier rain just as I need to walk woofs this evening.

Add to that the flying wheelie bins and the sounds of seagulls screeching as they get blown into the wrong chimney stack.. and the roar of the sea and that’s my day

Locally very heavy rain this afternoon, big fat need to go on a diet raindrops. I'd empty the rain gauge but it's still raining.....

Managed to offload everything from the van and caravan in the dry, but despite some clear slots this morning with warm sunshine and a good breeze, the event shelter is now draped artistically over the hay along with sundry other items.

Holy heck, that cell that went over Wycombe, loads of people stranded at the allotments because they'd walked there - lots  of people having to break into other peoples polytunnels for shelter - it was madness. Big white splodge on the radar. Take a brolly with you today!

Torrential rain and thunder just the other side of the South Downs today, with localised flooding on the roads. Here on the coastal strip - nothing, and blue skies.
