The Met office App places us firmly within the convergence zone today with T/storms between 12 - 6pm. Whether this actually translates to storms, we'll have to wait and see, but the severe storms predicted for yesterday, never materialised and so struggling a bit to keep the faith

I’m hoping. Might be the day to head towards the beach near a shelter and see what rolls in. Got classic cars and a regatta (wondering if they’ve seen the forecast) to entertain in the meanwhile

Breaking news, I've just seen a patch of blue sky. Needs verification obviously!

Morning all

The Netweather radar shows the circulation to the south beautifully.

Here in downtown East London, the main activity seems to be to the south of us but I'm far from convinced that will remain the case and I'm anticipating some sort of shower or storm activity this afternoon and evening.

Blue skies arrived, followed by a rise in temp and humidity and now very large cauliflower clouds are appearing all around, if it doesnt go pop today around here, it never will.

Very dramatic breakthrough here and temps have rocketed in response. Lovely, back in lizard mode!

Afternoon All,

After a cloudy start here in south east Essex, we had a brief light rain shower around 11:00, and now the sun has come out and moved the temps along to 22.5 degrees, no sign of any storm activity yet.

Cheers

FC

Your likely too far east to get a storm today. Sudbury and south Suffolk have slightly higher chance.

Out in the middle of the field taking the horses flyrug off and suddenly absolutely torrential rain! (Huge tropical sized drops) just got back in dripping all over the place when the thunder started.

Only lasted about half hour and now light rain and very dark. Still feels very muggy. I'm hoping that was just an appetizer for what's to come!

Looking at the radar, shower just cropped up to my NW nr Bungay, alot of large fluffy white clouds all around now. One huge one has been sat growing just to my north for the last hour now, humidity has dropped though as has the temp (or so it feels)

Storm towards my north/northwest in the Dunmow/Stansted direction. It looks as if it will just miss us.
