Well, you could say the first episode of the current series is over with some tailing rain.

A reasonable show show here, not the best but enjoyed it nonetheless. Time for some sleep now!

I really can't be bothered with this now, off to bed. Maybe I'll hear something later but I'm not holding my breath....

Overall not a bad evening here in St Leonards on Sea, though it failed to live up to expectations.  Things kicked off around 9.30pm here and I called it a day (night) around 1.00am,  Most of the lightning seemed to be of the cloud to cloud variety and thunder was almost non existant though we did have some torrential downpours. At one point the lightning picked up with strikes every 3 or 4 seconds, mostly distant.

I'll rate it a 6/10.

Thats me done for the night folks, hope it's good where you are.

Absolutely dreadful here in Cambridge. Hasn’t even rained much either considering the apocalyptic forecasts. Yawn.

Who could have predicted it would be a damp squib for the east? Oh, wait.....

Woken by my fluffy, the sky is falling, the apocalypse is here alarm at around 2am, thunder rumbled around for an hour or so, didnt see any lightening but then I didnt open the curtain as I was trying to calm said fluffy alarm and go back to sleep. Managed the dog walk at half 6 without getting wet (except for soaked by sweat as humidity is 10000 percent) and now watching the wall of water going out into the sea from the south, light rain is nearly here.

Well sleep was hard to come by. Rain was constant and heavy. 3 big rumbles following lightning about 30 miles away about 2am and that was it. Restless sleep beyond that as drenched in sweat not easy with a sleep mask in the heat

Radar and other bits watching now. Room still boiling as it continues to rain

My word it's close this morning. Raining at 19C with a dewpoint of 18C. It's going to be unbearable when the sun breaks through later. Still, give us a good chance of some surface based storms hopefully.

The overnight storms very much an 'east of the Region' event, as illustrated by a some radar images:

Wed night 23.40: 1303939488_RadarJun1623.40seq.thumb.jpg.16db530f15927df6e5a7fb5a5bb53a73.jpg Thurs 01.05: 270844639_RadarJun1701.05seq.thumb.jpg.8048ff5fd7829bfcd931cecf304b1425.jpg

Yesterday I mentioned 3 distinct 'swipes' at the Region over the Wed-Fri period. So that was 'swipe 1' above, and a look at this morning's radar for 'swipe 2' shows it further east than earlier forecasts suggested, so most of the action has been out in the North Sea with just a few flashes and rumbles clipping Kent earlier this morning:

Friday looking a very wet day, with this morning's Euro4 forecasting widespread heavy rain:

I will say it was very very humid this morning. Tropical. I normally love humidity which is odd as i hate heat, but it was awful. felt like i was walking thru a blanket.  very sticky.

It's freshened up quite a bit here, the wind is quite cool.

Looks like a home grown storm has fired up just 5miles or so from here, black skies to the south of me, hardly surprising as its very humid here.

Humidity well down on yesterday here, to me it feels quite chilly. Could do with some nice hot sunshine again!
