rain coming down steadily and quite a chilly day, no side effects from our jabs, Also a sad day today as we have lost a member of the royal family who was always there in a supporting role for our queen, a true gentleman who will be sadly missed by many.

Morning all,

The lack of rainfall continues and doesn't look to be any meaningful rain after the weekend for the foreseeable if the GFS is right..

High pressure parks itself slap bang over the UK right out to the end of the run..

Doesn't seem to be any middle of the road (not literally)it's either we have loads and some flooding or nowt ,warm in week when working ,cold weekends, give or take a day ,that old malarkey

Chucking down with rain here. Looking at radar going to be a wet afternoon.

After the soaking winter we’ve had, a good old HP over us is very welcome

Yes it was a wet winter (at least for the first part) but had below average rainfall  (50 miles to the south) since  February and so could do with some substantial rainfall soon as already having to water the garden (something I wouldn't normally expect to have to do until late May/June)

Month so far:

Mean Max Temp = 10.2°C‏‏‎ ‎(-2.4°C)

Mean Min Temp = 4.5°C‏‏‎ ‎(-0.8°C)

Mean Temp = 7.2°C‏‏‎ ‎(-1.8°C)

Rainfall =‏‏‎ ‎3.61‏‏‎ ‎mm‏‏‎ ‎(8.85%)

Sunshine =‏‏‎ ‎37.7‏‏‎ ‎hours‏‏‎ ‎(20.32%)

Very meh although 2 days with snow falling is pretty impressive I'd have to say!

The lack of rain is concerning.

We could be looking at a drought parched early summer.

 Yep I agree.. My bamboo I water it next day.. bone dry.. been going on weeks now.. Having to water everyday over 500 plants is a mission!  Although I am 100% carbon negative now LOL

Having this amount dry weather now unless we get some proper storms or we revert back to a wet Atlantic weather pattern (which looks highly highly unlikely now right out to May) then we are going to have issues..

Remember people associate climate change and global warming as its just going to get hotter. That is not just the case.. it leads to more extreme weather events.. which.. in the last few years has certainly been the case!

Despite being under moderate rain most of the afternoon we managed a sprinkle with my weather station not picking up any rainfall at all.

Hoping to catch a few showers today to water the bamboos otherwise it will be watering again tomorrow!

If the BBC app thingie turns out right (little chance of that!) Monday, Tuesday and Friday will be wall-to-wall sunshine. Not too warm, though, at 10C, but should push 30C inside the polytunnels!

has been sunny but quite cold out, big cloud build up so rain could be brewing [non alchoholic] general cluster polytunnel could be the place to head for this week, are you setting up an outdoor food and drink service in them? could be a nice little earner! ☕. Promise not to divulge the location.

Graupel shower just passing through. Decent looking convection plus an airmass cold enough for snow. Could see a few surprises this afternoon in places as well as the risk of a band of showers moving through tonight in some parts.
