Far too warm for a coat when outside, that sun is warm  everyone else still in shorts.

Around 1pm, I witnessed 4 people in a neighbourhood garden who were wrapped up in coats, hats, scarves and gloves eating their lunch, while it was snowing (albeit lightly) - I am guessing they were respecting the current covid 19 rules.

The weather station at University of Reading is showing Temp at 6.7C and Dewpoint Temp ay -15.2C !!! Thats a humidity of 19%, easily the lowest humidity reading I've seen.

Edit: -15.2 is the lowest dew point measurement in the last 30 years

Contrasting feelings between the cold wind and the warm April sunshine today but overall it feels quite pleasant IMBY.

Despite the onset of this so called cold snap observed a lot of people today  sitting in parks together (a few with picnics) acting as if it were the middle of June rather than a cold Bank Holiday Monday in April (with wind chill of 2c and a few snow graupels blowing in the wind). I think lockdown has made people more resolute to enjoy themselves no matter what the weather has in store.

with wind chill here we could go to -6 but as you are not on the coast yes you could see low temps but possibly not as low as us and your -3 could be wind chill temp, hope that helps, sorry im not a proffesional forecaster so maybe someone with more knowledge can help more.

I too thought it was snowing this morning but it was soft hail.. I expect a fair few thought it was snow flakes and probs some mixed in but most was soft hail..

Quite pleasant if you get out the wind and the sun comes out..

What is concerning more than the cold is the lack of rain .. ground here rock hard and the clay is cracking up already

Brrrrrr

Wasn’t there a famous snow event one April in London iirc about maybe 10 or even 15 years ago? Some really heavy snowstorm like thundersnow as I recall? I remember watching it sweep across one of the bridges.

No frost here this morning, too windy I expect. But we have sunshine and blue skies, radar showing showers down the east coast, hopefully they wont get inland to effect here. So cold last night, had to put a jumper on around midnight as I couldnt get warm even under thick duvet and fluffy covers!

Hi - I think that may have been Sunday 6 April 2008 - in Crystal Palace we woke up to four inches of snow and a fun morning was had by many in the local parks. Most of the snow thawed during the afternoon. That day I recorded a maximum of 9.2 and a minimum of (+) 1.7, so it was less cold than today is likely to be, exactly thirteen years later.

Just starting to see some shower clouds build and looking at the radar the showers are getting closer to our region with more cropping up at all the time . It would be nice to see a couple weeks f hefty snow ❄️ showers today .

Just had a hail shower, thought it was snow but no hail, lots of showers running down from the north this afternoon and that wind is icy, numb face when out walking, if only I could only walk south then its not so bad, but sooner or later have to turn around and brave the wind.
