I like to share, seems as though it was very localised to our area though, disappeared off the radar quite quickly.  Still it will soon be summer, with 30+c temps and then I can moan its too damn hot and will welcome the rain (and be annoyed by all the storms that skip us obviously)

Yes, looking at the radar it looks like a repeat performance of yesterday with more rain!. So much for a dry week. Yesterday afternoon was fine after i had decided to stop work. Just cant wait for some genuinely dry weather to occur. Having said that the sun has just come out.

Yep high is just a little to far west. So front going over the top are coming down over us, instead of the north sea, as was expected.

Anyone else now tracking what the weather will be like on 'six-in-the-garden' day, Mon 29th March? I've given my patio area an early Spring clean, ready to have a few friends around for a tinny or three to celebrate. Just need the weather to play ball now, so will it be or ?️?

NOAA 8-14 day 500 heights prognosis suggests we're looking at high pressure to the east and low pressure to the west of the UK. So a flow from a southerly point (likely SW'ly) which is better for temps, but will there be rain around?

The last few days GFS 0z output follows the suggested pattern, although today's run differs and brings the low further east resulting in a wet day. But d-day (drinks day) still 11 days away, so nothing pinned down yet.

0z runs on 16th, 17th and 18th March:

Latest rainfall, 850hPa temps and 2m temps forecast from 18th run:

Morning all, hint of brightness here but heavy cloud around, told it was very cold out earlier this morning from hubby who is now improving every day he went to get daily paper about 7am. Yes agree grey days seem never ending bit like lockdown, however lighter evenings not far away [coincidence clocks alter as first part of road map happens bit of schemeing going on there me thinks] and nature already bursting into spring blossom and flowers  hurrah.

Horrible miserable weather at the moment. Thank goodness for the spring flowers which really seem to like the cool weather...

The forecasts of clear skies today are looking on the money, with the east of the Region off to a lovely start. The cloud is ever so slowly edging further west, so hopefully more of the Region in the clear later. Looking forward to getting out into the sunshine later. A new rockery area in the garden to finish off.

The sun is back out again and the beautiful blue skies, it might not be interesting weather but it's sooooo much better then the horrible overcast weather we've gotten the past few days

Sun is still out, wind has picked up a little, so still chilly out of the sunshine, but soooooo much better than the grot and drizzle we've had all week, unfortunately weekend looks to go back to the thick cloud yuk.

Morning started cloudy but unexpectedly the sun has made an appearance in the last half hour, not sure how long it will last, but nice to see it as was expecting heavy thick cloud all day.

Happy Spring Equinox! Whoopee, more daylight than darkness from here on. And a week Sunday (the 28th) we spring forward so sunset not until around 19.30.

Not too bad a start to the day here, fairly bright through thin cloud and barely a breathe of wind. Hopefully a few breaks during the day; good to hear Blazerblue already enjoying a sunny spell.

Yes BW, it feels like we have turned the corner on winter and now spring is officially here. The spring flowers out in all their glory and staying out a bit longer it seems because of the cool weather. Just need to get rid of this annoying cloud/gloom. At least the days are getting longer and helped by clocks going forward next weekend. Gardens are all springing into life.   Speaking as a gardener and a lover of the outside I always feel that if you get a certain combination of weather conditions this is the best time of the year...
