Thanks for the replies all, I know the BBC Forecasts do seem to be way-off at times, I presume this is down to their change of data provider a while back, I don't really follow them anymore I have to say, I seem to go more with the MO and double check that with what NW has up. They get it correct now and again, but their accuracy does seem to be a bit hit-and-miss.

The rain has stopped here (for now) so going out for a long-ish walk into town, and a local park to get some much needed air. Although I'm finding my walks are getting earlier and earlier in the day which means I need to find things to do in the afternoon!

My part of London last week Tmax:

Monday = -1.2°C
Tuesday = 0.1°C

Wednesday = 1.6° C

This week:

Monday = 12.1°C
Tuesday = 10.2°C

Wednesday = 11.8°C

What a horrible reversal!

Wasn't the CFS 5 days ago saying we would be back in cold air tomorrow?!

Yes, CFS showed cold for tomorrow, but as someone quite rightly pointed out in the model thread, it was an outlier output.

Coincidentally, GFS is also hinting of a colder start to March!

Let's see if this trend continues into next week.

It has since last cold spell,it puts it there ,takes it way run to run ,but you know something's afoot coz it can't quite fathom where at that time exactly what is going to where ,(which is a good sign I think) something it can't quite grasp ..yet

Milder air moved in here yesterday (reached 7°C), so most of the snow has now thawed. Surprised how quickly the cold air was shunted away.

Sowing my peppers/chillies this week, anyone grown these tiny peppers or these dark tomatoes? Had them out of a jar and they were delicious. Going to try this variety of tomato, not grown it before (won’t sow tomatoes until late March).

Can see how the milder air has truly moved in on the Herstmonceux soundings.

-12.3°C at 850 hPa on the 10th at 0z, compared to 0.6°C at 850 hPa today at 0z.

 have scientific minded hubby who likes to try out different things, also for earlier poster we talked of pineapple flavoured tomatos not pineapples just had very squally heavy rain and gusty wind, out it dosn't feel mild. reply about  black toms have eaten them very tasty but skins on small toms can be quite tough good luck on growing the seeds

Any thoughts for this weekend in South London?
Looking at the MO/BBC/NW all seem to agree that Saturday is likely to be breezy now, and potentially a bit damp/wet at times to what was forecasted a few days ago. BBC seem to be going for the milder option.

Sunday looks to drier, but both MO/NW seem to have it at around 12c around here with keen breeze still, where as the BBC seem to be out on their own opting for 16c. Is this a case of the BBC doing their usual optimistic forecasting on temps, only likely to downgrade them nearer the time?

Just to quote my own post, seems there’s more agreement for more cloud on Sunday now around these parts, temps around 12-15 depending on what app or site you believe.

Shouldn't be too far along from you. Cloud has just disappeared from here.

Did anyone order a beast for the start of March? Yes these charts are still way out in fantasy land, but they still keep regularly showing up for the beginning of March. The chase is still on!!
