Minus 10c forecast for last night... actual was minus 4.6, miles off. Anyone hit double figures in the South East?!

The one part of the garden unspoilt by the kids and the wind indicates we have a depth of 15cm in total. A tad more than the 2018 BFTE.

8.5/10

Nowhere got under that -10°C mark last night. Marham came very close at -9.7°C

Well this cold spell has been more than decent! Woke up again to another powder dusting, thats 5 days of falling snow and we’ve had just over 12 cms I’d guess.

It was sunny when i left Heybridge, now in Basildon and it’s like a winter wonderland. The showers overnight have obviously been concentrated more down this way. ⛄⛄

Looking at the radar, think the show/snow is over. Not a bad last hurrah though this morning!

Oh no, the pain lol. I think you are right although I was telling everyone this time yesterday that this was probably the last of the snow for our part of the world.

So on my level patio table it's 16.5 cm (blank 1/2 plastic on ruler before measurements begin). Which is 6.5 inches. On lawn its a bit all over the place but the most level I could find was 15 cm, 6 inches

Looks all over this morning for any extension to the cold spell as we head into next week now. Great that some places in the region got some last chance saloon snow last night - we caught one really heavy shower as way of send of here too.

Scores on the door for here:

Snow: 9.5/10

Cold: 6.5/10 (may rate higher)

Duration: 8/10

Overall: 8.5/10 - due to the depth of snow.

Back to the MOD thread and the next hunt for cold beyond next week!

another dusting overnight and a beautiful cold and sunny morning. Very crunchy underfoot, but it looks like it will be back to sliding in the mud for a short while next week!

Just measured our Snow here in West Suffolk. After 3 days of frequent Showers and a biting Frost last Night, we have the grand total of  nope - still swearing A**. Going to take the Dog out in a bit and frolic in all that lovely  Frost

Glad most got something especially 40 Miles East of here. You need a very special set of circumstances here for a decent fall of Snow. Trouble is, nobody knows what these are!

I can see one more chase this Season in 10 Days or so. Who’s in?

Quite happy with how yesterday went, and my forecast was pretty good overall. Expected the Twig to be over Mid Kent then relaxing eastwards and the divergence and convergence eased away south into the channel. ALways knew places from Medway Towns to East kent were going to be in the sweet spot with this NE Set-Up.

As expected a new area of convergence was expected from Midnight until 8am this morning in the Thames Estuary as winds relaxed to first ENE then East and now East South East which would bring more of the Thames Corridoor into play and NW Kent and parts of London.

I know some were not overly hopeful but the High Pressure was far enough north for this little window of opportunity to have its final farewell and looks like the Estuary SST's of 7c mixed with Uppers clinging on around -9c were enough to generate some lift at 650mb for some shallow to medium sized showers with tops around 10,000ft to 14,000ft in some cases, indeed some instances of Thundersnow occured last night as well off the Kent and Essex coasts.

I think the nice thing going forward is we seem to be on the cusp of a nice dry spell of weather which should hopefully help the water table out a bit if a reload comes in the last week of February.
