Went from very little snow on the ground to 2cm covering everything in about 20 minutes, a few more of those please!

The odd flake in the wind 6miles to your west here sums up our luck

Hope it pushes west that showers missed us to our south

Finally some heavy snow here after a a few days of light stuff. Had 6-8cm on some surfaces by the end of Monday with some small areas of drifting, closer to a foot of snow. A little melt the past two days leaving paths and roads clear, these are covered again with around a cm of snow so far tonight.

-5.3c last night, expect to beat this tonight once the showers swing back north-westwards and skies clear.

Evening all. Anyone any idea on whether these streamers will hit the Petersfield area in East Hants? They look like they're moving our way but I'm sure they'll be light snizzle or totally dissipated by time they're here. I'm not optimistic, based on this pretty crap week out these parts tbh.

Had a light snow shower with proper flakes earlier when I was working outside over Haslemere way, and then on the drive back going SWwards I drove through some light-moderate bigger flakes with very unstable looking convective snow clouds all around me with classic yellow bases. Of course the heavier snow moved Midhurst way right across the S Downs according to the radar....

It has been a miserable watch in NE Hants hasn't it? I have been forlornly looking at my radar dot in Fleet and watching all the snow literally go around it!

Red arrow: Current direction of travel

Yellow: Winds shifting towards that direction in the next few hours bringing parts of Essex & London into the game. Some of these showers could give 1-2cm very quickly. Be lucky enough to catch a few of them and well.. enjoy!

A lot of these streamers actually look to be hitting my area dead on but I just know when they get here they'll be all but dissipated!

I bet the massive orangey blob dissipates before it gets to my location in Tunbridge Wells - despite it only be about 5 miles away

It did again didn't it...? Typical of this spell really, showers struggling to push inland effectively. That said, I bet it fell at a pretty decent rate for a while there. 5 miles to your south east, we seem to be running up in between the worst showers right now...

Happily it is still snowing lightly and somewhere along the line we've gained a new cm or two blanketing any bare patches of paths and road.

Now nervously watching the next lot, examining closely for backbuilding, and hoping for a couple of good hits...

Having just caught one I can confirm 2cms in a very short space of time. Next shower looks like it will go slightly north of here.

At least I don’t need to worry about the snow settling if it’s nighttime, even if it’s not as nice as if it were in the day. Hopefully means I don’t need so much intensity, but let’s see if I catch any showers first

Absolutely buzzing in here tonight!

I love these surprise / better than expected events The emotional ride of the streamer continues, after disappointment today here has had 4cm in the past hour with possibly more in the pipeline radar wise.

Could get a dumping tonight!

And those further west should see a few flakes as well!

It definitely is, all showers were passing to our south for most of today but now they're hitting us again. Does seem to be somewhat of a dry slot coming up though, hopefully that doesn't cause too many issues for us.

On our 4th or 5th heavy shower since 4pm now. Added a good 5-6cm i reckon.  Hope showers keep going for those further west. Couple of pics from a peaceful walk earlier

It's such an addictive hobby though . I was planning an early might but the chat in here has tempted me to just keep an eye on things for another hour.

I just wish it was grey and heavy with snow!! Bit ungrateful really!!!

Same here, just got the cat in and it’s all white where it had thawed earlier - hadn’t checked the radar since about 6 as I thought it was all over!

I thought we were a bit lucky lunchtime with 2cms out of nothing. Really threw it down. That then melted a bit in the sun. This evening we've had several heavy showers. Way heavier than anytime this spell. Must have 3-5cm this evening. The fact it's -3c everything is covered. Not sure about main roads though. If that's it for this snowy event them I'm satisfied thank you! Wish everyone could have this. So weird how localised it is.
