Number of the high res models switching steering flow from NEly to ENEly or Ely overnight - so could see snow showers push towards a more westerly direction  for a time inland toward London, Essex and counties to the south of London, before fading by breakfast time.

Looks as though it maybe steering now

Double digits now. Going to be another 20 years before I see anything like it knowing the weather at this rate.

Absolute beast of a shower here at the moment, really coming down hard.

@pinball wizard did any of the previous snow in Ipswich thaw or has it stuck around, with these showers adding to it? Must be some amazing totals there by now - my parents measured 11inches on top of their wheelie bin, tables and chairs in garden, and that was yesterday evening!

Got another heavy burst now. However I've a question, the showers are clearly coming from the Ene now, however the snow in the street light is moving west. Any ideas.

Showers are gradually shifting further north again as winds shift back towards more of an easterly direction. Some pretty heavy showers developing too, a single shower could give 2cm in a very short space of time.

Be nice to finish off with another dusting, mostly thawed here throughout the day.

The winds are blowing from the se over Dover pushing the showers more inland.

Anyone know why the temp is rising? It was -2.2c and now shot back up to -1.5c in like 10 minute.

That one over Hastings might not survive but there's a lot more coming in behind it

Still light snow falling here in St Leonards on Sea/Hastings, settling on all surfaces.

Was so ready for a good long sleep tonight but the fact the showers look so heavy, and the way it’s turning eastwards is definitely interesting me here in south london. Could be the perfect angle off the estuary soon. Showers seem stronger intensity today for sure, for whatever reason

Hello mate. Yes unfortunately the bloody sun made an appearance for a few hours during the day so it did shave some cm's off. Some cracking icicles though from the melting snow on roof and guttering. Its still an impressive depth though and probably just had a 1-2 cm top up from the last shower. Tomorrow I'm expecting the thaw to set in.

Yes just looked outside and there's a little snow flurry, should've checked before asking.

The wind must have gone more towards ene because the snow band is moving west and it's got here. Second time today
