Like I said not great at reading radar and don't know where airmasses come from and don't know a thing about clippers or streamers or slappers. You can get good content from an area of Sussex though always adds value

Interesting to know how being a storm chaser squares with not being a radar reader?

The BBC is showing -10C very widely across Surrey, but I think they are assuming snow cover.

I’d go for somewhere across the pistes of rural Suffolk to hit -10c

What a spell of weather for most of the region! I have been watching on in envy.

This is by no means a moaning post but would just like some with more understanding than me to explain the lack of precipitation down the middle of the region. At first I thought I was just unlucky I have now realised after hours of radar watching there has to be a reason for it which I can only assume is the wind direction versus the shape of the coast line.

My location is 10 miles south of Norwich between the a11 and a140. I find it really interesting. If anyone could explain the dynamics it would be really appreciated.

Enjoy the snow, it’s what we all wait for!!!

Like I said you get decent comment from certain posters in here and others just come in here for cheap shots and snide remarks to stir the pot.

I had the same just because I said "Whiteout", I mean who gives a toss what I call it?  I'll call it a blanket of the white stuff if I want

Temperature dropping remarkably fast here, already -3c, if only the snow fell now haha. Will be interesting to see how low we drop tonight.

These blokes are always at it on the pistes of Southend and Leigh when it snows!

-2C and dry, but bucket-loads of snow between now and 6am... if the app's to be believed!

I'd have used whiteout for your video. Jealousy that's all it is

Looking at the radar, to my untrained eye showers look like they are just trying to push further up the Thames.

The large blob off the coast by Lowie is on course to hit here shortly.  If we hit -10c tonight, its gonna be a lovely lethal dog walk for me in the morning. Knew I should have bought some cramp ons for my boots.

Just been looking at the Euro 4 model.

The winds back a little more Easterly later so there is the potential for Brighton to sneak somthing again before 9am.

Not a bad little spell of snow this afternoon,it just started to stick toward the end before the sky cleared.

Like pulling teeth this cold spell in Brighton!

Good to see those in Norfolk Suffolk mid-east Kent and Sussex get some more snow today and as the streamer turns into a clipper those Canterbury eastwards likely to get some more in next few hours

Temperature here in Locksbottom hit a balmy 1.4 today but @ 7pm was already -2.5!!Think I will smash my coldest night of winter so far(-3.1) providing skies stay clear.next few days will see continued thaw of snow and would expect by Saturday all snow will be gone.Looks like a temporary milder spell from Monday but for how long.Maybe this time next week we could be on the cusp of another cold spell ?Fascinating Model watching continues but after a few late nighters it will be nice to try and catch up on a bit of sleep

stay safe
