Pretty sure it's getting heavier!

Yes slightly heavier now but not enough to make any difference on the ground , shame I was hoping to see some lay , never mind it’s pretty watching it fall especially when the sun pokes through

Temps must be dropping now, it's gone back to, fine flakes here. So looks good from now for settling I expect. Where it's falling moderately, and less melt, fingers crossed for those with heavy snow.

The convergence line is still on us at midnight according to the earlier fax!

Let's hope so

Would have settled better in an hour or so.

Any way looking good.

Still think it will be 2pm to 4pm as per my earlier post but you might be lucky to keep it longer

Have had a few heavy groupel showers in Lowestoft the past hour.

A snow plough has recently been down our road too, which I haven't seen in recent years.

It should end up as a Dangler in the Channel. Might even bend back a bit towards coastal Hampshire or Dorset by the end of its life

Moderate snow snowers earlier, slightly settling on unmelted patches of ground, better than yesterday at least.

Hello from Newhaven

14:40 - T steady at 1.1 but the DP has shot up from -4.5 to -2.2 over the course of the last hour as the humidity rises.

There has been light snow over the last half hour or so which is slowly getting heavier. I'm quite interested in the heavier lot to the north east which seems to be heading my way but who knows ?‍♂️

If it does get to me I'll find an excuse to pop to the shop for something random to buy. If it misses I'll curl out my bottom lip and sulk for a bit

Have a great day everybody

Looks as if the cold ends on Sunday with extremely mild (12C) conditions from next week in the south.  We've managed to miss the heaviest of the snow to the north, east and south of us!  -10C is forecast tonight here under clear skies, so a potential 22C range from tonight to next Monday.

So how cold are we going tonight then guys?

MetOffice latest text forecast says -9C (earlier said -10C). Weatherquest at UEA said potentially -12C.

How low can we go?
