So weird - I'm in Brabourne Lees, 2 miles away and it's bright sunshine

Nothing here in Folkestone either. Doesn’t look like it’s heading this way any time soon either. All the icicles are falling off the house instead.

Light snow on and off here. Seem to be just missing the heavier stuff. Seems the convection is here most of the day and I’m sure I saw somewhere at midnight the twig is still over us?

My personal opinion (and sure it's dictated by the lack of settled snow here, just as people who currently have boatloads of it will disagree) is that streamers are an absolute lottery and a complete waste of time unless you are one of the favoured few.  4/10 for this spell here, and that's being generous for the shear snowfall longevity given that it's actually produced next to nothing here.

Give me frontal snow any day of the week...at least then it's not usually an argument between those that want a ENE vs NE...

It is indeed

I've only been at my school for 3 years, so I don't know what Crown point was like in your day but they've recently built a Lidl just to the side of it.

Typical - finally get some better convection, and the wind direction changes.

Presumably the wind change is WHY we are getting 'better convection'.

Heaviest snow of the spell so far here on the North Downs. Has recovered all the surfaces cleared by the wind/gritting. Sorry can't post any new pics, mobile phone reception is bad here, seems to be stopping any phone > computer transfer

looking at the radar, it seems anything originating around Colchester is then in a line to cross SE london. however, nothing has managed to survive the distance and has evaporated by the time it gets to Chelmsford.

Glorious looking day outside my office, Lambeth bridge bathed in sun and still the odd patch of snow laying.

Yeah.

Defo hoping for better than the odd flake falling.

If we can keep cloud cover it would help slow any thaw.

That sun has some strength to it today.

Theres a 2degree difference between having sun or cloud right now..

Going on last nights charts this evening was always looking better for us

Wasnt expecting things to get going till mch later today..

Thoughts ?

That would be quite the pasting. No solar radiation, all showers, caked.

-1.1c and -3.2c DP - heaviest snow of the spell so far. Thick flakes and lots of them, seems to be train of showers crossing the SE corner of the M25.

Bit of light snow here to round off things. Expected nothing at all so making the most of it, as who knows, it could be years before I see it again!

Quite happy to have had some showers already considering we weren't expecting them till this afternoon! Let's see what happens later!
