Ha! I use the term very loosely!

Maybe just two cms, would you agree?

I wouldn't have claimed more than 1 (unless I was talking to my DW)

II’ve had a look at UKV tonight. Suggestion is that as the wind swings more NE a convergence zone pivots from the Thames estuary southwards, so the band will move southward at the westerly point as the night progresses. By midday tomorrow the pivot should be from the estuary to Brighton before moving even further east during the afternoon. So those areas in the pivot zone should get some snow depending upon the strength of the convergence and wind strength.  Perhaps 2-5 cm in some areas.

The last chance saloon for these areas methinks

I think the feature that will either intensify or kill the streamer, and I think it will intensify it, it approaching the south coast now. It'll be that converging with what we have, setting thing off.

Channel Islands have more snow than we do here in this part of Surrey. Says it all really!

At least you lot in the east and south east have had 'some' snow.  Here is Swansea, south wales, the most we've had are a few flurries and hardly anything settling.  Can't believe even the Channel Islands get more snow than we do here.... and the are an island hundreds of miles further south.  Go figure!

They have a band of snow from a channel low today, well a French low.

Well at least you enjoyed "at least one decent snow event" in every one of the 35 years you lived in the south east....

Haven't had a "decent snow event" for 8 years here in Horsham....

Anybody know what this bright echo, to the east of margate is, it's been there for hours, never moves, just shows up.with variable intensity

I think it's a wind farm. From debates that have popped in here, during this spell.

By feature I mean this line of cloud on here, the one heading north just off the coast, not the rain band in France.

Well my confidence has dropped to low now for any more snow like we had on the first day where it snowed all day, I believe that's all we're going to get. I don't mind though as there was plenty of it for me to enjoy in the woods but if anymore snow drops down then it can be a small gift, I prefer spring to come along though where nature starts to wake up again
