A biting wind here in Newhaven with the temperature slowly edging downward from a max of -0.3 to a current of -0.9 and a dew point of -5.8. We had light to moderate snow much of yesterday afternoon and again this morning. Total snow a whopping 2-3cm'ish but hard to tell as it's been blown about too much.

Not really expecting much more but not complaining as it's been great to see the snowy pics from others in the area.

Have fun

Much warmer than forecasted, now at 1.5c. whilst yesterday morning was good, so far SNOWVID21 has nothing on the real beast from 2018. Even places in East Sussex and Medway got nowhere near as much snow as they should have. Now looking to see how cold the next few nights will get, -6c possible.

Did something just happen to the radar?
I look away for five minutes and suddenly it's all clear in Essex!

Dover has done a lot better with this one. Dover had to wait till break down day last time, and even then it started as ice rain.

Met Office reports heavy rain at Heathrow, where NW radar shows only snow everywhere.  Mind you they've been showing rain at Aviemore very often this week, which has clearly been nonsense.  I find it odd that they can get reporting actual conditions, rather than forecasts, so wrong.

good job the radars are just tracking weather then; and not air traffic

Come on Radars, Don't give up on us yet. I know its been three days of light snow that you must be now tired of picking up.

Here is a double espresso shot ☕

The alien artefact off Thanet must have woken up and destroyed everything!  Actually I have noticed there are several such anomalies in that area, but the one off Thanet's east coast is by far the largest.

Hello Moogyboobles I was just thinking that myself. I checked on other radar sites and says its clear. Could it be the end of the snow????

Far eastern areas have done very well out of this, I'm guessing the highest snow depth since 2013?

I just realised others had posted noticing the same. Who knows?
I was expecting a quieter time now, and as it's my bin day I'm sure my bin people are appreciating this break in the snow fall.

What are we going to do without a radar

Old school, just looking out of the window and watching the darker clouds roll in. Back to simpler times...

I suspect most of the white stuff tonight will be frost.  Clear spells and a lighter wind could lead to some very low temperatures.

According to met app and bbc app that’s my snow done now out of this cold spell, roll on spring please

I wouldn’t worry what the apps say, they have been totally wrong for me, had me down for zero snow on the met app this morning for all day today and it hasn’t stopped snowing all day, They have both been way off with precipitation and temperature .

Interestingly, whilst the temperature has only just got above freezing here for the first time in 48 hours, the local ponds have not frozen - is this due to the wind? Additionally, the deeper puddles have barely frozen...
