Looks good for Kent - would these showers have some more clout in them? Or be like we have had already? Or just down to pot luck?

Is the snow settling for anyone on areas that don't have snow cover on?

No. It hasn't stopped snowing but there is definitely a slow melt going on here.

it would seem like Kent and Sussex is in line for another snow sesh tomorrow, and models put me on the  absolute extreme western edge of the border between no snow and snow.

damn.

We do still seem well set for another lot of snow tomorrow with that convergence zone still expected in the same area (perfect for us here), but... still 24 hours away, and also looks very short lived. Forms beefy showers that sink south through the area in a couple of hours. Crossing my fingers regardless.

Moderate Snow.

After a quick temperature rise this morning  ( -1c to  0.2C  )...the temp has now dropped again to -0.2C

DP is -3.1C

Wind has risen in last 30 minutes and sky is eerily grey......

About 7CM new snow overnight.

you're further east than me though and away from the coast, seems we need very precise conditions to get decent snow on the coast, conditions that only show up a few times in a generation.

Winds have just gone to E/ENE in NE Hampshire! Hopefully some decent snowfall today, probably not anything close to areas further east but a few inches of snow by middle of the night tonight would be nice

Finally getting some proper snowfall in SW London, I'd say it's light to moderate right now.

Accumulation in the last hour or so has probably equalled the last 12 hours, about 1cm!

Depends how much of the greens and yellows make it across London, it will be at least more persistent than yesterday so a decent covering. Will come down to locality, some areas more north or south maybe only getting a dusting or light covering.

Still snowing. Much more difficult on the roads and pavements here. Not as windy as I thought it would be. Another afternoon of sledging .

well the met office is sticking to its guns, sounds like milder weather only making it as far as the SW, should stay cold in east.

Showers picking up intensity in Clacton, apparently heavier inland.  Here on the coast it's alternating between big flakes and graupel.

Heavy snow in Colchester right now, this will accumulate fairly quickly if it carries on.

Photo doesn't really show it that well.

Edit: in fact it's intensified even more.

Heavy snow but actually melting what was already there (which wasn't a lot).....

I think at this time of year in the daytime you need a snowcover for existing snow to accumulate on otherwise will struggle. Been the issue here. Slightest patchy coverings due to snow falling at the wrong times of the day and small melt even though no sun and temperatures still below freezing.

Temps climbing rapidly here now, up to a balmy 0.6c, not sure why as it’s still overcast. It stayed at 0c & below all day yesterday but the wind was from the NE, today it’s more Easterly
