You can tell from the Ppn proflle on the Meteox Radar returns, that there is now a bit more East in the flow, and forcing that area of Snow, towards London. You can see that in the angle of that weak streamer, in the English Channel, aligned ENE > WSW.

Will it rain today? Rainfall radar United Kingdom, realtime rainfall radar United Kingdom, lightning United Kingdom and snowradar in United Kingdom - source: meteox.com - rainfall radar Europe

Heavy bursts of snow now in Bexleyheath, probably the best I have seen during daylight hours in this spell.  Has a Thames snow streamer set up at last?

Light snow continuing in SW London, although it's a little heavier compared to the extremely light stuff we had all day yesterday - amazing to have falling snow all day, but without any noticeable accumulation...!

Have added around 0.5cm overnight, probably have around 2cm on the ground now.

Snow light here in NE Hampshire at the moment. Hoping that the green makes it over to use to the south of London and doesn't die beforehand.

Met Office seems to have updated the forecast for my area showing light snow all night, some areas to south of me even getting heavy snow for a good chunk of that. I wonder if they have cottoned onto the E wind due to the low moving over France.

Good luck today anyone under that streamer!

Well. Any milder weather will be brief according to the latest METO update.

UK long range weather forecast

Saturday 13 Feb - Monday 22 Feb

It will remain cold or very cold with brisk winds during the start of this period but potentially turning milder over southwestern then western areas for a time, but with a risk of gales at times here. Outbreaks of rain and snow, potentially heavy for some southwestern areas are possible across western and southern areas, whilst mostly dry and bright in the east and north. However with a continued risk of snow showers possible in central and northern areas. Further into this period, snow and attendant wintry hazards are likely to continue which could affect mainly northern areas and eastern areas but not confined to. Overall, conditions look to remain cold but some milder interludes are possible with accompanied unsettled conditions moving in from the west or the southwest.

Updated: 04:00 (UTC) on Tue 9 Feb 2021

Monday 22 Feb - Monday 8 Mar

After a potential spell of milder and wetter conditions for most likely western parts, probably a return to colder and drier conditions overall. Whilst overall conditions are likely to remain cold, there is a continued chance for unsettled, milder interludes arriving from the west or southwest. These may produce a risk of disruptive snowfall during transition periods. Increased confidence at the end of February and the start of March for cold and mostly dry conditions. However, there remains a greater than normal threat of disruptive winter hazards for all areas through this period, with snowfall possible for all areas, but most likely in the east.

How is it looking for tomorrow? I notice there seems to be a few hours of the white stuff on the met office app here.

Morning!
Moderate light snow here. Still not what I’d class as heavy (I judge this by visibility)

Hard to tell the depths due to it blowing about and being fussy over where it wanted to settle! solid covering though but nowhere near the level of the previous “Beast”

Best of all is that we’ve had snow falling for 3 days with sub zero temps. Last year I barely saw a snowflake so this restores my faith in the Snow Gods

Temp rose to -2.3c overnight, but now back at -2.6c with a DP of -3.9c. Had to escort my wife to the main road in my car this morning - our village doesn't get gritted. Very icy and about 3-4cm of powdered snow on top. Drove towards Orpington and some roads were better than others. Court Road from Hewitt's roundabout to Chelsfield was good, but after that, it got covered in drifting snow.

Now been out with the mutt, and the snow is moderate and steady, but flakes are much bigger now. If this keeps up, we will get a good covering today. The main streamer seems just to the north, but this is already the heaviest I have seen since Sunday afternoon.

All models now in much more unison this morning re milder air even in the East at least after Sunday if not on Sunday. No longer 50-50 and no longer likely to have a BFTE return a few days later either. So make the most of it everyone!

Woke up to light snow. Radar suggests it could last a while, but probably not amounting to much. Currently -1.3c, will be interesting to see how close we get to a second ice day!
